Great

Virginia Square Plaza has been great. I moved from just down the street in Ballston, and the area is noticeably quieter at night. The front desk staff is very helpful. The only downside has been relying on the metro with all of its problems lately, but overall it's worth it. I am very happy with VSP, and I don't plan on moving until after law school.

Va. Sq. Plaza—Relatively pleased

The apartments themselves are a touch older but very spacious—for me that made up for any problems with older cabinetry. Lots of windows and natural light as well. Parking is a bit annoying, but par for this area. I LOVE the location. It’s basically across the street from the school. There are two convenience stores within a block, the metro is literally across the street, and the Giant is a six minute walk away.

Having said that, while the office and administration of the building is pleasant, they are also annoyingly particular. There are often nasty gram emails and papers taped to the elevators. Minor, but annoying. Overall I am relatively pleased, given that it’s a large corporation.

Convenient, but expensive.

This apartment is a 5 minute walk from the law school, which is the main reason why I chose it. It is clean, quiet, and roomy. I have had a few issues with the landlord, but being persistent and respectful seems to solve any problems. This apartment is expensive, but it is comparable to other one bedroom and studio apartments in the area.

Great Apartment for Future Students!

I chose this apartment near the law school. It's secure with a 24/7 front desk and closed access requiring key fobs. The front desk is nice and they are helpful. They allow your packages to be picked up from the front. The metro station is across the street so it makes it very easy to access DC, and the law school is about a five minute walk, three if you walk fast. There is a grocery store one block away, two 7-eleven's for late night snacks, and a plethora of other food places within walking distance. There aren't really any good views, but it's a good place to live while in law school. The community room can be rented for free so long as you put down a notice (so if you wanted to host a party or something). The walls are fairly thick and I rarely, if ever, hear my neighbors. It's pricy, but falls within the general price for living in this area. If you are a pet owner, this apartment complex doesn't allow pets. So you'll have to find somewhere else if you want to bring pets.

Great Place to Live

Gave it a 9 instead of a 10 because it's a little pricey for a student, but it's still reasonable given the value of the place, and they really do deserve a 10 by any other standard because it's worth every penny. I lived here before going to school, and chose to stay after starting school because it's a great place. There are 2BRs and 3BRs available, which will probably help shave down the price if you can find good roommates.

VSP is located right outside of VA Square Metro Station. It's a residential neighborhood in between two relatively commercial neighborhoods (Clarendon and Ballston) so traffic is not as heavy, but still within walking distance to bars and restaurants (and the Ballston Mall). It is also within walking distance to the George Mason University Arlington Campus Library, and the Arlington County Public Library.

The staff is really responsive to request and accommodations. Administrative staff goes the extra mile to help accommodate your needs to the extent that they can. There's an onsite maintenance crew that typically fills your maintenance requests within 24 hours even if it's not urgent. Aside of crew that cleans the common areas on a daily basis, there are also routine quarterly air filter changes, HVAC unit inspections, and exterior window cleanings. Staff from top to bottom are all extremely friendly and professional.

Common areas include a fireplace lounge, a community room, a gym, a business center, a game room, and a courtyard. There is a 24-hour staffed concierge for package and access control. Security personnel will come patrol the common areas and the parking garage at night (in-door parking is $50/month.) There are also storage room and restricted-access bike racks for rent, or if you don't want to spend the money, there are also public bike racks in the garage.

Getting around Arlington

Living in Rosslyn is very convenient. It’s very close to the metro and it’s only one stop away from Foggy Bottom. I can also easily walk into Georgetown DC by simply crossing the bridge. I feel very safe here too and it’s close to grocery stores.
I love living in Rosslyn. I've always felt safe here and there are a ton of areas to walk my dog. It is a bit farther away from where people typically go out (mainly DuPont) but it's very convenient to get to and from school.
While there's not as much to do in Rosslyn as there is in DC, it's quiet, safe, and super convenient. We have tons of transportation options (we don't own a car) and can walk to Georgetown easily.
This apartment complex is very safe! Virginia Square Towers is located in the Virginia Square neighborhood, which is right in between Ballston and Clarendon. Typically more social events happen in Clarendon, and Ballston has more chain restaurants and the mall. Being in the middle of these two towns is amazing because they're both within walking distance, and it allows me to have a quiet neighborhood to go to that is away from the chaos of both of those towns.
I enjoy my neighbors and the common crowd around this area is young professionals it seems. We are close to george mason university and marymount college, so there is sometimes a younger crowd in the area as well. We do have some houses around the area that I have seen mainly have newly established families (i.e. little kids or new to the area) and I feel safe walking around my area at night.
Safe and friendly neighborhood. On a busy street, so the neighborhood is mostly behind the complex. Even then, the suburb behind the complex is small before you hit another highway. Very easily accessible by car, not very much by metro. Also, that accessibility comes with the cost that things do not feel very walkable in most directions. Living here almost necessitates having a car.
Pentagon City is a great experience that is only about to get better with the new Amazon building and the influx of youth it will bring. It is a ways from DC which makes getting with friends difficult because they don't want to come to Arlington, and getting to DC requires 30 minute notice and planning.
The neighborhood is very walkable and has very accessible public transportation. It's not somewhere you typically would go out at night since nightlife is nonexistent, but Amazon just moved in and there is semblance of that changing. It's great if you are active (many gyms, parks, and Mt. Vernon Trail Access), enjoy restaurants like Chick Fil A (one right outside my building), and want to be close to everything.
