Nice Place to Live if you have great roommates

I think Vie is a great option for university students. Try to pick who your roommates are and make sure the management cleans the common spaces inyour apartment thoroughly before you move in.

There are pros and cons

The apartment is on the cheaper side, you don't have to buy furniture and it is close to the metro, have a shuttle to school, grocery stores, mall, eating places etc.
The cons are that you have to have roommates that you may or may not know, it is a living area for undergrad students as well so they treat you like an undergrad student and it is a commute even if they do have the shuttle

Free shuttle to Howard

The apartment is a student residential apartment so they have a free shuttle service to Howard University. It’s right opposite PG mall so easy access to comfort. Their maintenance team is also excellent. The only problem is that the WiFi is a bit slow

It’s nice.

It’s a great community, many Howard student live there. There is a pool, nice gym and a coffee lounge. There is security on site 24/7 but I don’t like that we have to check our visitors in, as if it is a freshman dorm. On the plus side there is a free shuttle to Howard and Umd that operates during the fall and spring semester

Nicely upgraded and newly staffed

The vie towers have recently been renovated and prices have rising by in part due to this. The amenities are nice and most are new as well. However the management team hasn’t been swift with repairing unexpected damages like a leak that damaged about 14 apartments in Nov 2018(my own included). Besides this the apartments are nice, affordable and come with more than you’d get in non-student housing communities. My monthly garage fee through the building is only 120/month compared to 90/month if I purchased directly from the company. the have fun things like food truck Friday’s and. Chick fil a is brought to our building for purchase. We have community events and a cafe to look forward to as well.

Great Place

The Vie Towers is a great place to live while you are attending school in the D.C. area. They have upgraded a lot of the rooms with new flooring and appliances. I don't advise staying here if you don't plan on stay in the apartment after May because you do sign a year lease before moving in which runs through July of the following year, but other than that it beats the dorms any day.

Vie Towers (once Towers at UTC) was the cheapest in DC

A new management company has bought this property since December 2017 and has done a lot of renovations to this place. When I first most here it was only because Howard had no graduate housing at the time. Vie has lots of cool ammenities but rent is still pretty high. They also need to fix the way electricity is billed because it’s split evenly among roommates. I hate that. My roommates love leaving lights in for no reason. The towers are convenient right next to PG Mall, Safeway, several restaurants, and a movie theatre. It was the best option for my grad student budget. There is also a shuttle that goes to Howard and university of Maryland that is very convenient.

Friendly Staff

Friendly stuff, directly across the street from PG Plaza Mall, two blocks away from the PG Plaza Metro Station. Very convenient for someone who does not have a car and wants to have a space with their own room and restroom. There is a shuttle that takes students to and from Howard Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. there's a full kitchen and there is a Safeway store, Target, and Giant grocery store nearby.
