Renovations Currently Taking Place

Very nice location, building needs renovations but they are actually doing them as we speak. They just started a project to re-do the hallways and lights and stuff like that which will look nice. Recently added wifi to the gym which is also a plus. Elevators can be slow.

Good value but bad location

I loved the doormen (and all of the staff) and the fact that there was a gym and rooftop, but the location is terrible - right across from public housing and far from the subway. Management company isn't quick to respond to complaints. Gym always broken.

Good enough

Parc East is convenient and spacious, but feels like a dorm. The rooms are huge, even with a flex, and the kitchen has nice new appliances. Doormen are good about getting to know tenants and packages, not that cautious about visitors/security though.

Great for young professionals

Parc East is a great apartment building for young professionals. It is located (fairly) close to the 28thst 6 train, has a gym, great management, and is pet-friendly. Our apartment is very spacious, and has tons of sunlight. Units vary in size.

Gramercy Park Reviews

5 minute walk to Trader Joe's. Target in-building. Fairway 3 minute walk away. Several bars and restaurants nearby on Third Ave. 40 minute walk to Washington Square Park area. 10 minute walk to the closest subway (the 6), but there are bus lanes nearby. Incredibly close to two major hospitals (great during the COVID age, but lots of ambulance sirens).
Gramercy is awesome, lots of great restaurants and date spots. Easy to get EV for later in the night, or lower east via 4/5/6.
Many restaurants and groceries. Quiet and safe area.
See first thing I wrote. Kips bay/murray hill has a great bar and restaurant scene, very young. You don't really go out Friday/Saturday night here, not enough dancing type bars, but it's awesome for just about every other occasion. Central location for everywhere that you would go in any situation though.
East village is great because it is close to school with a great restaurant and bar scene. The only down side is that there are a few hospitals in the area, which means that there are a few more homeless people around than some other areas, especially during the summer, since they are often picked up and then discharged. It doesn't feel unsafe because of the homeless people, but it isn't the most pleasant part of the neighborhood.
Good neighborhood for living: Trader Joe's, Fairway, movie theater all within walking distance. Also close to NYU Langone hospital which is good for two reasons: can get to the hospital quickly if you're sick and it's right by the E line shuttle that NYU runs. Get to class in about 15 minutes without having to pay anything more.
PRO:
Safe area (next door to the Police Academy)
Pretty quiet neighborhood (3rd ave is not too noisy)
Close to actual Gramercy Park
1mi from campus
Many restaurants/bars close by, but not noisy on a Fri/Sat night

CONS
No do-it-yourself laundry nearby (wash and fold options close)
No actual access to Gramercy Park
Closest "large" grocery stores at Union Square (Trader Joes, Whole Foods)-not a problem per se, but expect them to be very crowded most of the time
The neighborhood is friendly and busy. The building is located between 5th Ave and Madison Ave so it's busy outside, but not too noisy throughout the night. There are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby and it is very conveniently located around multiple subway stops.
