Nice area, New building

About the area: 600 Washington is the only new rental residence built in this area (West Village/Greenwich village) in more than decade. It is not in a rowdy or extremely "hoppin" area (like D'ag on campus or East 2nd St.) but I personally love not having all the noise. There's a ton of restaurants and boutiques close by and you can walk to the more rowdy areas.

Price: $2900/month. They also do many specials such as 2 months free on a 12 month lease.

About the building: New building = no concerns with bugs or mice (literally never would happen). It's the nicest building I could find at this price point in the area. Looks very new and posh when you walk in. I had a friend compare it to a hotel. There's also a nice (but note huge) WiFi/study lounge space on the first floor. I believe there's no roof access but I personally don't mind that. There are plenty of people at NYU with roofs you can visit.

Amenities: You can pay an extra fee for a parking garage or pet. Gym in the building. 24-hr in-person doorman.

My studio: I have modern appliances (stainless steel) and hardwood (cabinets and floors). There's a HUGE window spanning over 100 inches long. Two GIANT closets. Nice bathrooms with marble and tons of built in mirrors. Central air controlled in-room.

Dislikes: My only qualm with my apartment is with the room square footage. My studio is around 400 sq ft and I tend to look for 500+. I guess 400 is good for New York.

Amazing neighborhood, very quiet, very close to campus and quick to get from here to any other part of town. A few minutes from the waterfront with a great park and options for many different sports.
Ive lived here for 3 years, no complaints at all. It's young and fun.
This area is great for someone new to the city. You're close to several train lines and right down the street from both NYU and Chelsea. You are surrounded by some of the city's best bars and comedy clubs. Not to mention, you're two blocks over from the Hudson if you want to go to a bar on a boat or run on the West Highway. If you're looking for the perfect blend of city and neighborhood, the West Village is ideal. You aren't surrounded by skyscrapers but have the perfect view of several.
The West Village is a 15 minute walk from Stern's campus. Tons of restaurants, bars, and great shopping. It's more mature (few undergraduates) than central Greenwich Village or the East Village. Beautiful running and bike paths along the West Side highway park are easily accessible and have incredible city views.
Perfect neighborhood - close to transit but also great restaurants and bars.
It's the west village, right by stonewall. Great nightlife, always something to do.
Love the neighborhood for all the restaurants and accessibility. This block for some reason has a lot of noise and crazy people otherwise would be a 10.
Feels very safe, lots of bars and restaurants, close to NYU
