very big pros and very big cons
I love living right in Rittenhouse square. It is incredibly safe compared to other apartment buildings in the area (you walk outside at night and there's restaurants so I'm never scared.) Heat/AC is paid for and the gym is free in the building. You can have some incredible views if you live on the right side of the building. Package room is incredibly reliable/huge plus of the building.
Cons- the building is very dated. None of the buildings in the square are "new" compared so some of the other buildings Penn students live at. Given that, there are some units that when the AC gets turned off in the winter and switched to heat you have no control. We are currently dealing with VERY hot apartments in the building on the upper floors. This is definitely something to bring up when you tour the building.
I have had some issues with my fridge as well but they replaced the fridge immediately and reimbursed me for the food that went bad. Overall, management has been helpful. It is an old building that comes with some struggles but management has been responsive. There are units on the side of the building on Chancelor street that can hear garbage in the morning. So keep in mind the units - what do you want your view (might have to pay more but less noise) and figure out the AC situation in your unit. Some units are more updated than others. Overall I would recomend and I will be here for two years.

Very happy with the building!
We are generally quite happy with the building! The apartment is recently renovated and clean. The front desk and door people are great and super helpful. The gym is nothing special but it does the trick. The second floor lounge is great for studying too.

Rittenhouse Claridge Review
Great place to live, but some minor ongoing issues

Claridge is under-rated
I think this is a great apartment in a great building. Compared to some other popular Wharton spots, Claridge has a bigger gym, more spacious apartments, and lower rent. Not to mention it's literally on Rittenhouse Square and has great Rouge and Parc just downstairs.

Loved my time at the claridge
Definitely recommend this building - right on Rittenhouse Square, spacious (we had a 2br), and good price. We had an unrenovated room which kept our cost down, having a rug wasn't ideal but it also never really bothered us. Maintenance team is so fast and responsive. I'll be sad to leave this building!

Highly recommend
I love the common areas in the Claridge – the gym is spacious and clean, the sauna is great, the conference area and lounge are well-furnished and perfect for meetings. Can't beat the location or the rent!

The Good, the Bad, & the Neutral
The Rittenhouse Claridge is a good community but lacking.
The Good:
- Maintenance is quick to respond to issues, can either call the front desk or submit online
- Spacious living room
- Great views over the park and roof deck (but this doesn't compare to many other high rises decks)
The Bad:
- Elevators are currently being worked on so wait times can be long and are exaggerated by the 2 person rule (which some residents are VERY serious about)
- Kitchen is TINY
- Some rooms on the smaller side
Neutral:
- Gym - has a yoga room (that doesn't seem to be mopped enough) and has some of the basics (treadmill, free weights, a few machines), but definitely smaller
- Package system - secure room, but often issues with something being delivered but not showing up (it normally does a day or two later) and can be very messy
- Lounge - nice lounge but I personally hardly use it

Claridge review
Great building with really awesome staff (front desk, door staff, maintenance). The unit is nice, though slightly dated. The only real challenge is the building is right on Walnut street, which is quite loud with significant ongoing construction.

Great value and location, gym, tons of Wharton students
Great Wharton community to be a part of. Apartments are larger than what peers are paying for smaller spaces in other buildings. Location right on Rittenhouse Square is wonderful (especially with the 2x a week farmers markets right on our doorstep). Only issue is the package system- can get overloaded at times.

Rittenhouse Square Reviews
Spruce Street in particular is great - it's a little south of the square, so is quieter/shielded from a lot of the traffic that the neighborhood gets, but it's not out of the way or far away. There's a Starbucks, a grocery store (Rittenhouse Market), and a few corner stores (Four Seasons and Food & Friends) within a 2-3 minute walk of my apartment.
