Close to Campus

Clearwater Apartments is a less than ten minute walk from Seattle University's campus. If you are on the lower floors, then you won't have much of a view, but the studios are spacious compared to the price you pay. The management is incredibly friendly and responsive. There are two levels of underground parking that cost an additional $150 a month. I included this amount in my rent for this review. Electric is through the City of Seattle and WiFi is only through Wave/Astound (no XFinity allowed). There is a somewhat strict no pets policy. The closests are somewhat cramped, but they have an in-unit washer/dryer in them which makes up for the crampness. There is a locked gate to enter the complex and all packages are gathered by management to ensure no theft occurs.

International District Reviews

4 reviews
As mentioned in my initial review, it takes less than ten minutes to walk to Seattle University. 11th Ave is somewhat unlit in parts of the area, but overall it feels very safe. The roads are somewhat narrow as cars are parked in both sides, so the roads can be kind of cramped to drive sometimes.
The neighborhood can be a bit loud and hectic, but it's very much a neighborhood despite density. Unlike much of downtown, it's a place where I feel like the community of residents is highly valued by both itself and the neighborhood as a whole.
The ID is a place that you'll either love or hate, depending on the kind of person you are. If you're looking for a neighborhood with great food, that's super close to public transit, walkable to downtown and has cheap rent--this is the place for you. Is it a little less safe at night? Sure. Is it louder? Of course. Do things feel a bit cheaper or run-down? Yeah. But if none of those things bother you you'll fall in love with the ID.
As three year resident of First Hill, I will say the pros are: easy on-street parking and access to I-5 and I-90, cheaper rents than Capitol Hill while still within walking distance of nightlife, close to the International District and Downtown, feels relatively safe.

Cons: no major grocery stores nearby, lots of noise, few restaurant options, no good local bars. Expect to walk, bus, or drive to many things you want to do.

Overall, the cheaper rent makes the out of the way location worth it.
