MAA Charlotte Ave. Review
Great Apartment Complex

I really like it!
I really like MAA Charlotte. It is about 1.25 miles (pretty much a straight shot) or a ~25 minute walk to the med center. Every time we've has a problem with A/C or anything else, the staff responds super quickly. I have been so pleasantly surprised! Very clean and feels very safe. My biggest gripe is that it's a little bit further from the med center than some other apartments, but it's still pretty close. Huge windows. Super nice bathrooms.

Ideal for first-year students
The MAA Charlotte is a very short commute (6-7 minute drive without traffic) to Vanderbilt making it ideal for someone who is new to the area. It has top-notch amenities (pool, free Starbucks machine, study/work area, a nice gym, and game area) and is well-managed. The only downside is that there are very few walkable restaurants/shops nearby; this isn't a huge downside given how much of a driving city Nashville is. There is also a train that runs by the apartment complex so it can be noisy at night, but it hasn't been a huge issue for me - you get used to it quickly.

Great place to live!
I really think MAA Charlotte is a bang for your buck. It’s a little bit farther of a walk than the Broadview or Aertson, but the price for the space is unmatched. The amenities are great, the leasing office is friendly, there’s plenty of events, and I think it s a great location. The walk to campus is scenic too!

Great experience!
I have only lived here for about a month but I really like the amenities (amazing gym, pool, free coffee, valet trash, bike storage, easy parking etc.) and the apartment itself is very nice and well-kept. I walk to class and it takes about 30 minutes to walk, so we leave 35 minutes before class to get to VUMC. This is the longest walk of our whole cohort, so the location is not great. We have also had quite a few AC issues but every time we have called for a maintenance issue, they come immediately and give us fans/backup AC units to cool the apartment down before they fix it the next morning. The leasing office staff are also very kind and easy to work with.

MAA Charlotte: Would not recommend
MAA Charlotte is located close to campus and downtown, but is not the most ideal housing option in my opinion. The complex can be noisy, it's a bit older, and isn't very walkable to dining and Owen.

Okay but nothing special
It is a fine apartment that is about a 20 min walk to owen. They allow dogs for an extra fee. The pool is nice in the summer and they have a big dog park. The management team is average at best.

Great experience!
My apartment is a nice space on the corner of Charlotte Ave and 23rd. I can walk to EBL in 20 minutes (straight down 23rd to Vanderbilt University campus). Biking is also a good option since it is a little farther than other options out there. It is very close to Centennial Park for exercise. Also, the amenities are extremely generous (pool, gaming lobby, cyber lounge). I have truly enjoyed my experience. The cost is also very affordable compared to other places in Nashville.

Prespecialty year apartment
The leasing agents are kind of useless but the maintenance people are great and the apartment building itself is nice.
