Taking the good with the bad
I love the location of the apartment. I enjoy living on Rivermont Ave because of the community walkability. I also do not mind some distance from school because it allows me to reset when I drive and feel like I have my own space outside of my academics. The maintenance has always been fairly good at responding to my requests. However, since the building is older, there has been some issues with the plumbing. The entire complex lost hot water for a while and the building did all they could to fix it, but it was still out for 10 days which is too long. The kitchen pipes are connected as well between my unit and the two units upstairs from me, so when there was a backup, my kitchen flooded. This is just one of the cons of living in an old building. The price of rent is really great but since it's an older apartment, it is expensive to heat and cool as well so its important to factor that price in as well.
