1900 Arch Street reviews and highlights
- One of the nicest gyms I've ever seen (they have a climbing wall)
- Easy access to parking
- Windows are large and let in tons of light
- Lots of construction noise during the day
- Nice rooftop deck
- Great amenities
- Great place to live
- Modern, but very small 1 bedrooms
- Brand new building
- Fairly close to Rittenhouse
- Amazing gym with kettle bells, punching bags, 4 treadmills, a few ellipticals, and several weight machines
Solid Apartment
1900 Arch is a good building. It is very modern in its appearance and has some great amenities. The roof deck does have limited hours of use because management caved when some residents complained about late night noise (in my opinion, you moved in knowing where your unit was located so don't limit the whole building for a handful of people who knowingly moved in to a noisy location). Also, there is security but literally anyone can just walk in...

Don't live here...and here is reasons why from residences
I'm currently live in 1900 arch apartment. 1900 Arch is a new building that they just started leasing last year. As a student, I thought this apartment is an ideal apt since bus station is a block away from the apartment. They have nice lobby, gym, lounge and roof top. Room is relatively big for the price if you are sharing with multiple roommates. Living room is nice and kitchen are also nice as well. However DO NOT GET TRICKS BY LOOKING AT GOOD THINGS! After you lived there for a month, my friends and I both lost packages. I talked to the manager and doorman but they said they take NO RESPONSIBILITY. My packages were successfully delivered to my apt according to UPS, and the doorman even gave a signature to my packages but somehow they were lost...they only put sticker notes on your mail box and they don't check your ID or they don't even sign you as you received it. Also since the apt is new I see there are many things that its not perfect. My bathroom door and living room door didn't close. So I put them on work orders 3 or 4 times. Yet they never bothered fixing it. Half of the time, you will be waking up with construction noise. The parking is even worst. They opened up for public so even you pay $300 monthly parking you will most likely not to get park and I think it's ridiculous. If I were you, I would not live this apartment. Because most of the time there are new building build up next few years and your view will be blocked...except you live in 15 floor.

1900 Arch--Construction zone for indefinite future
Great, modern (but very small) 1BRs. I have not seen the 2BRs but they unlikely solve any space concerns. My husband and I were drawn to the newness and style of the building, and those model apartments were so cute/modern. The gym was a key selling point--one of the nicest gyms I've ever seen (they have a climbing rope and kettle bells, medicine balls, punching bag, 4 treadmills, a few ellipticals, and several weight machines, all in a cool design setting). Plus, to pay 1780 for something so modern yet close to Rittenhouse is a steal. But here's the catch-- the 1780 price point is such because they were trying to fill the building while it was still being completed. Not only is a second tower just now being constructed (as of Dec 2014), but I don't see it ending anytime soon. To make matters worse, a major Comcast structure is being built across the street. So any apartments facing 19th street are going to deal with a lot of noise for a long time. (I'm guessing 2 years easy). If you're okay with construction noise waking you every morning at 7am, then this is the building for you. If however, you're pregnant like me and wouldn't mind sleeping in especially on Saturdays, the construction noise can really start to drive you mad. Because I spend a lot of time at home (in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy so I don't get out much), I get to hear this noise all day. It's not so bad for my husband who has to get up earlyish for class anyway, and spends the daytime away. Definitely something to consider when moving to 1900 Arch. I think by the time construction is over, they will price the units much higher--so the "value" plus will be negated. I suggest picking a brownstone on a quiet street instead. One last point on 1900 Arch. We're in a unit facing Arch street, and don't get any direct light. But because the windows are so large, our place is never dark. I just miss direct light sometimes.

Brand new building!
It's a good place to live in general, but there's a lot of construction going on nearby which is occasionally disruptive

New Building, North of Market St.
Although this new building is a couple extra blocks from where most students live, I think it's the perfect place to live. The rent is a bit cheaper than closer to Rittenhouse, and the building offers some great amenities (gym, rooftop deck, parking). There are a few options along Arch Street that are popular with Wharton students (1900, 1835, The Lofts, etc.); definitely worth taking a look at!
