To start off with, the property manager isn't concerned with tenant safety or whether or not the tenant feels safe. For example, someone tried to break into our apartment one evening while we were home. We called the police, documented the damage to the lock on our door, and informed management, but the property manager argued with me and said it didn't happen. Her reasoning is that she (or someone else who works in the office) gave the neighboring apartment's key to a third-party cleaning company, and they forgot to lock up after cleaning the apartment, so the company owner gave the key to his nephew and sent him to lock up at 9:30pm, and he accidentally tried to get into our apartment instead. Nevermind the fact that we could see through our peephole when it happened and the person who tried to get in had their face covered up, and they damaged our lock in the process. So, not only do they not take tenant safety seriously, but they are also ok with giving apartment keys to third-party companies and have no issue with other random people using those keys. They literally could've made copies of the key when they had them, but the property manager isn't worried about that apparently.

We've lived in our apartment for several years, and the complex has changed hands between property owners (at one point, the property changed hands three separate times within a span of months). As a result, the upkeep is pretty bad. It doesn't help that the property owner can't keep maintenance workers. When something breaks, we've reported the issue to maintenance, only for maintenance to mark the issue as resolved without checking it. Then we have to report the issue again. When that happens, sometimes they come and fix it, but the issue usually crops up again within a few months.

This complex is right next to I-70, so the highway traffic is pretty loud. People drive really fast through the parking lot, and don't clean up after their pets. Their are no amenities.
