It’s fine, but too expensive
The place is nice and clean. Recently renovated with built in heating units. There was an issue with squatters when some units were vacant but the building is full now and those have gone away. The location is perfect, it’s 1 block from the YMCA gym and all the restaurants and shops downtown. However, it is too expensive for what it is.
Primary issues are:
There is only one washer/drier for the building of 16 units on the first floor (nothing in-unit), it’s coin-op, and breaks often.
No dishwashers.
Some units have small bedrooms that will not fit a queen or king size bed.
The nearest dumpster to take out trash is 2 blocks away.

Amazing Unit but Poorly Managed
The unit was newly renovated (huge kitchen, two decent sized bedrooms, tiny bathroom - but that was okay!) with new flooring in some areas and original hardwood in others. My application for unit 4A was approved, but management told me that another tenant signed for 4A , but I could have 2B instead. I signed my lease for 2B without visiting the unit (don't do this!) because I was on a time crunch.
When I moved in, the apartment smelled strongly of smoke/incense and everything was covered in a thin layer of grime and soot. The apartment needed a deep cleaning, but that's pretty typical when renting. Any structural issues (plumbing, heat, etc.) were handled pretty quickly by a repair team from the management company. The only other downside of my unit specifically was that all windows face another building so there was very little natural light.
When the building needed repairs, management was very slow on updates and keeping tenants informed about whether they could stay in the building. After two months not hearing anything, we learned we would have to vacate for a month. The communication was so minimal that it was impossible to know what the next steps would be and I was very skeptical that it would only take a month to repair. I decided to break my lease when management said there was asbestos and lead inside the walls.
Ultimately, the price is great for renovated unit, and the location couldn't be better. However, poor management was a deal-breaker for me. (Also, not sure what my actual exposure to asbestos was, but I didn't feel like dealing with that either.)
Pros:
- located right off of main st. in downtown concord
- huge kitchen with lots of storage
- big bedrooms
- pet-friendly
- decent closet-space
Cons:
- poorly managed
- no dishwasher
- building laundry unit was often broken
- no sunlight
- no parking
