It’s decent, affordable, not fancy but good for 3 years. Has amenities and maintenance is good and fast and the leasing office is reasonable.

Comfortable; good maintenance
My experience with Ivy Gardens has largely been great. The complex is generally 100% leased, which means that the management company is able to employ a fully-staffed maintenance team. That further means that any time you have an issue, it is generally solved within the day (unless an outside contractor needs to be called). This has been super helpful. Likewise, the rent is reasonable for what you get. It is not the most fantastically modern apartment ever, but it is comfortable, homey, and everything works.

Ivy is great
Ivy apartments are generally more spacious than others closer to the law school. There is more space in the complex, too. I have only had one maintenance issued and it was addressed quickly. I have an upgraded unit so the appliances and finishes are new, which is a plus. Before picking an Ivy apartment I would try to see where it is within the complex and if it is upgraded. There is some variability within the complex. I would say I am more satisfied with my housing situation, as are my classmates living in Ivy, than classmates living in other complexes close to the law school.

Cheap, Walkable, Social
Ivy is cheap, clean, within walking distance to the school and to many classmates. I didn't live here 1L partly to help me focus on school, but am very glad I moved here 2L.
Its not incredibly nice, but its certainly nice/large enough and has all the other plus factors.

10/10 Recommend Ivy Garden
Ivy Garden feels more like a home than apartments at Pav and is much cheaper. If possible, I would recommend applying for an apartment early so you can live on the North side closer to the school if you plan to walk to school.

Par
Ivy Gardens is par for the course. Mediocre facilities, mediocre rooms, and average prices. The proximity to the law school makes walking easy. I recommend it overall.

Ivy is Pretty Good
Ivy's pretty good. It's notably further away from the law school than other locations, which is less than ideal, but it's *much* cheaper than Pav, so much so that the distance is largely irrelevant -- you could get a decent bike with what you'd save on a single month's rent. The gym is fine, though small -- it was great to have when the school gyms required masking. Apartments are big and comfortable, though kitchen facilities are pretty old and the floors are unfortunately carpeted. Management is responsive but generally stays out of the way. One issue is that the area is far less walkable than it looks on a map because of a narrow underpass that is concerning to drive under and downright dangerous to walk through, so it's not a place I'd advise to live without a car.

Ivy Garden
It's very nice! Little expensive for cville, but proximity to the Law School and Darden can't be beat. Management and noise are much better than Pav.

Overall Great Experience
Overall, I have had a wonderful experience at Ivy! While the buildings are older, maintenance is very responsive and helpful whenever there are issues, including after-hours. The only downsides other than how old the buildings are: (1) the pet policy is not enforced; (2) the walls are thin; and (3) there is no mechanism besides contacting local police to deal with noise complaints.

All Around a Pleasant Place to Live
I have plenty of space to walk my dog around the compound and at the Miller Center next door. It is fairly quiet, but you can hear loud vehicles when they rev their engines climbing the hill on the road outside the complex. My main complaint is that there's almost no overhead light in the main room and you can't easily fill the space with lamps.
