Pitt sucks at keeping students safe/comfortable in their living situations
Sterling land company is great. My apt is small, but works for one person. The few times I’ve had problems maintenance has been there right away. What is not great is the university of Pittsburgh. There was zero support when I had to find a living situation quickly when taken off the waitlist a few weeks before the start of the semester. I would tell students to stay far far away from Pitt if they want affordable and nice housing.

My apt
I love living in my apartment. It’s very spacious, the neighbors are quiet and respectful, and it’s very conveniently located only a 15-20 minute walk from both Presby/Monte/WPIC and Shadyside hospitals. The company I rent from is responsive and communicative. The rent is a bit steep, but it’s not too bad if you consider it includes a covered indoor parking space (it’s 1250 plus 100 for parking) and all utilities except wifi
