Generally Great Metairie Apartment Complex
The neighborhood is very safe. You can walk on the levee after dark or before sunrise without any problems. The complex is a mixture of families, younger working professionals and retired-aged people. Having a pet doesn't seem to be an issue and people clean up after their pets; I've never seen any dog poo around and I've lived there for over 5 years. People are generally friendly and courteous. I've been dealing with a noise issue since beginning of July (a neighbor below me is a guitar player and treats his apartment as a recording studio), but this is unusual. Maintenance is very responsive time-wise, but you sometimes have to be specific with your requests or the root of the problem won't get addressed. There is a pool; I've never been in it, but it's cleaned daily during the months that it's open (~April-September) and gets a lot of use from the residents.
The location is excellent. It's in Metairie, but I get downtown in 10-12 minutes in the mornings.

Great find in Metairie
The staff who work in the leasing office are friendly and professional. Maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner. The other residents are courteous and friendly. There’s plenty of parking. The surrounding neighborhood has lots of families and is usually quiet. Being at the very beginning of Metairie, it’s easy to get to anywhere within the New Orleans metro area.
