Safe, Clean, Noisy

It is a great place to live. I feel safe living there on the first floor. I like how clean the rooms and hallways are. The apartments themselves are really smartly organized. I love having the laundry in the bathroom. The bedrooms are small, so I've enjoyed the extra space of having a second bedroom (for only $50 more per month). There's also an extra storage space (3'x4' with a height of about 9 feet). I've gotten used to driving to campus (it's too far to walk to my classes). My only issue is the noise from the family with children above me. On the other hand, there aren't any annoying parties that go late into the night, so that's a plus.

Love it here!

I have had a great experience at the Landings and will be staying here for the rest of my time at ND. It is family and married student targeted so there is not a lot going on socially for single students. But the price and the location make it totally worth it.

Great price close to campus

8 min ride to campus, very safe area patrolled by NDPS. Not within walking distance, need a car to get to class.

Great place for the price

This is generally an easy place to live, usually quiet, easy to get work done. There are a lot of families, as the place is geared toward housing for married and parenting graduate Notre Dame students. Only students live here (you need to supply an ID# on the application), but Notre Dame residence life department does not manage the property. It is about a 30 minute walk to the heart of campus, because you have to wind around a little bit to get around the lake, but certainly still a walkable distance, and easily bike-able, if you don't want to pa for parking on campus. There is also a bus that has a stop here called "the Sweep" which goes only around the Notre Dame/Holy Cross/Saint Mary's campuses as a shuttle, which is free to use if you show your student ID card. The rooms are a little small, but not too cramped, the space is used generally wisely, and really can't be beaten for the price compared to other apartments this close to campus. There is usually a Notre Dame police car around at least once every couple days to patrol and make sure nothing suspicious is going on. I would certainly recommend it, my wife and I plan to stay for the next two years.

Great Apartment Complex Near Campus

The Landings is a really great option- it is more affordable than other apartment complexes that are also near campus and its brand new (nice appliances), lots of natural light.

The only negatives are you cannot have a pet and the walls are kind of thin. However, the walls are not as thin as other apartment complexes close to campus (e.g. Overlook).

Excellent Married and Family Housing

I wouldn't consider anyplace else for married and family housing. The Landings offers great apartments that are basically on-campus will providing a safe, fun area for families.

Great place

The apartment is very new and safe. There is also a shuttle to the university. It's only five minutes to school if I drive. Also, the price is very reasonable if living with a roommate.

The Landings - perfect for introverts.

I love living here! It's usually for married/parenting students, but currently single grad students are allowed here as well. Brand new apartments for pretty cheap (especially if you're splitting it with a roommate - which you would have to find yourself) and there is a shuttle to campus on the weekdays (every few hours). Otherwise it's a 15-20 minute walk to the Dome and 30 minute walk to Duncan/south campus or a short car ride (the walk is very beautiful though). The apartment is small without a lot of storage space and sometimes seems distant from campus (and there aren't a ton of single grad students), but it is great if you want to get away from campus and have a quiet place (there are no other buildings near by). Management is very nice, although they sometimes are hard to get ahold of if they're not in their office. If you do have children, there is a very small playground and a bit of grass for them to play on. Utilities are included (water, electricity, etc) except heating/AC, which you pay for depending on how much you use. There are furnished and unfurnished apartments as well as 1, 2, and 3 bedroom options. Overall, I LOVE The Landings and am so happy I chose to stay here.
