Georgetown Apartments Review
Great option for those who plan on walking to class

Great apartments with some flaws
The apartments themselves are very nice, especially for the price. They are a 5 minute walk from the hospital and HSC. They are fairly quiet except for some car noise from the street, but that is very dependant on which building you are in. The downsides are home football games. Since the buildings are that close to the hospital, you get quite a number of tailgaters all along the street. The apartments also will sell your parking spot to people on game days if you leave, so you are basically stuck in your house on game days. But other than that it has been a good experience and I will continue to stay here as long as I am in the area.

Great for HSC/Ruby Students/Employees
The management is very responsive and willing to help. The pricing is a bit steep, especially if you add the pet fees, but the apartments are nice by Morgantown standards and have LOTS of closet space (especially the 1br). It does get loud and crowded on game days, so it makes it difficult to leave the house much for a few hours, but noise-canceling headphones and knowing the football schedule will help! There is frequent helicopter sound from the hospital, but it isn't that bad. Overall, I'd recommend this complex much more than the surrounding apartments, and if you work/study at Ruby/HSC and/or like to go to football games, it is a fantastic choice! I've had a few minor maintenance issues but was able to get them fixed within a day or two usually. The area is also pretty well-lit, so it doesn't feel horrible to walk outside at night. I've lived in 3 different complexes on Valley View Ave over the past few years, and Georgetown is by far my favorite. One piece of advice, unless you like it very dark, do not get one of the basement/side units. They have a little bit of outside space, but the apartments are dark (mostly underground) and you have to constantly run a dehumidifier. The rest of the apartments are great though! I once had a problem with a neighbor and the management team was able to relocate me to another unit with a discount, so of any of the companies, I'd say they may be the most caring/accommodating. The units do not include a microwave just FYI, but they do have dishwashers, washer/dryer, and garbage disposal.

Georgetown is great but has some flaws.
The apartment is within a 10-minute walk to HSC and 5-minute walk to Ruby. Many professional students live here, so it is relatively quiet. The only concern I have is property management based. It took over 1 year for our unsafe deck to be replaced, 6 months for the washer & dryer to be fixed, and 48 hours for an oven heating element to be replaced despite being told it would be completed within the day.
For gamedays, parking may not be guaranteed as the managers sell any open spot.

Close to HSC, prompt maintenance, very quiet.
In-unit laundry (washer/dryer) is convenient.
Dishwasher included. Every time something breaks, maintenance is prompt. Rent is not that expensive. Within walking distance (10-15 min) to Ruby, stadium, and HSC.
Nothing is included in rent, however. I pay gas, electric, water, internet, parking, and a trash fee. Internet is 30 per month for Xfinity. Parking fee and trash fee are once a year costs, 130 for trash, and 50 for parking.
Very quiet; I don't think any undergrads live in these apartments, only young professionals/adults.
Very safe area.
My apartment does not have much sunlight, though. All windows face the side of the building adjacent to another building, so pretty dark.

Good value with walking distance to hospital
The place was very clean when I moved in, it is very spacious with lots of natural light for good price. The management is usually responsive to maintenance requests but have had some trouble in the past with bigger needs like replacing appliances. Parking is free with visitor spots. Quiet part of town.

Clean and convenient to WVU Law
I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Georgetown Apartments in the 3 years I’ve lived there. The 1 bed/ 1 bath is spacious and was spotless when I moved in. Maintenance is quick and easy if there’s ever an issue. It’s only a couple minute drive to WVU Law and within walking distance if needed.

Close affordable clean living!
I have nothing but excellent things to say about Georgetown. The proximity to the football stadium and law school was my number 1 thing when moving to Morgantown. I haven’t had any maintenance issues. The apartment was literally spotless when I moved in. I was able to take cleaner and a paper towel to any surface even the bathroom floors and it was spotless. The only downside is the apartment is unfurnished and the parking is on a sloped lot rather than flat. This is my second year at Georgetown and I will be renewing for a third.
