Simple, no frills studio. Very small but doable for one person. Outdated, utilities included.

Average On-campus Graduate Housing
Pros- close to med school, skybridge to hospital (which then leads to Murphy) which allows for late night studying at Matas and then safe walking home, security downstairs, trash service, all utilities included, quick maintenance, washing/dryers on every floor
Cons- rats outside in garbage, some people had problems with roaches, not the most updated facilities, walls thin, smells from other people's apartments leaked into hallways, small studio is very small, no way to meet other people in the apartment which I guess I expected because it's on-campus housing and my undergrad held things for us to meet in the dorms

Deming is Comfortable
Nice community with med students, graduate students, and residents. Friendly staff. Very convenient for students, like myself, who do not have a car. Rent is just under $700/mo per tenant in the 2 bedroom/1 bath which is very reasonable. Some downsides are that the windows do not open and the building struggles with cockroaches.

Deming Pavilion Review
Deming is a damp, humid, and moldy place that is inhabited by graduate and medical students who are so busy that they barely see the light or they barely come home to sleep.
It's perfect for me.

Housing Experience
I'm currently living in Deming Pavilion, a place that seems convenient if you are on a budget and you are a Tulane student, is close to Canal Street which is the main street used to visit places for entertainment, food, and just a good place to do our regular stuff. Overall, maintenance, and administration have been excellent in resolving our issues. It's close to the University, and moneywise, it's the best place to stay while you try to settle down in New Orleans.

Deming pavilion
Overall, it is pretty low quality housing for the price. It is very similar to living in a dorm. The worst part is the constant construction noises that management did not tell anyone about prior to them moving in. The convenience factor and proximity to the med school is the positive.

Not Terrible, Less than Ideal, Very Affordable
Very safe place to live in the Downtown area (security 24/7). The whole building is filled with people who work or go to school at Tulane so the packages that get left at your door will not get stolen (even for days on end). Walkway from Deming to parking garage/Hutchinson/JBJ (all parts of the school) is nice so you never really have to walk on the ground floor at night. Centrally located to restaurants/bars/things to do. The price is what really sells it at any level (studio, 1 BR, 2 BR) and includes everything you need (all utilities). Makes paying rent easy through your Tulane Gibson account. You will get a parking spot in a nearby garage which is nice as well since those are hard to score if you are living elsewhere. The inside of the studio is pretty bland, but its furnished. The 1 bedrooms have a nice wall so you don't wake up in your kitchen. The staff at the front are super nice and accommodating and will get any request you need done promptly. If you're just here for 1 year, its not terrible at all and super affordable. If you're in a pinch and can't find housing elsewhere, also a good option so you can take time to find out where you want to live if you're not from here. If I stay in New Orleans, I will likely find a new place to live after my 1 year is up. But for the price and the convenience it is worth it. 7/10 stars
