Clean but unprofessional
The residents are quiet, professional people. The building is clean. However the building managers and leasing “specialist” are highly unprofessional and retaliatory. It’s a struggle to get anyone on the phone. It’s a shame the unprofessional behavior and lack of communication caused us to buy somewhere else in the neighborhood sooner than we would have preferred.

Spacious but had many issues
As a family with a toddler we encountered many issues in our unit. A management team took their time in resolving some of them, some of them resolved fairly quickly, and some of them never resolved. Biggest concern we had here was pest issue, which we had to call pest control for 4 times within 3 months' span. As far as we can tell, pest is no longer an issue in our unit. The management made sure that the pest control would come within 14 days after our request. The building is old and smelly. From our experience, it's cleaned at least once every 2 months. Our unit was warm throughout the winter, and got hot during summer without a window AC they rent. Moreover, we initially had a problem with our package delivery because there is no surveillance over it, but it became manageable after the Amazon installed a locker in our apartment building. Packages from other deliveries are still at risk of being stolen if you don't pick them up quickly. Overall, any emergent requests were fulfilled somehow so the unit seems okay for the price. If you can afford slightly more, I would recommend other places.

Older brick building, spacious and pretty
Lived in Regents my first year but at 5316 my last two years. Highly recommend. No doorman but great maintenance staff. Really big beautiful rooms, all new appliances. Street parking is easy (I drive to school) but the bus is also close. Love being near all the restaurants on 53rd street.
