South Junction is Fantastic

I've lived at South Junction Apartments since the beginning of M2 year. I've found that it is a perfect living situation for med school. It's about an 8 minute drive from campus, and walking distance to Tom Lee Park and South Main. The apartment is spacious with lots of closet space. There is a washer/dryer in every unit. Maintenance is very accommodating and responsive. Also, there is an option to sign a 3, 6, or 9 month lease without an increase in rent. There is a small gym and 2 small pools on the property. The only negative things I can say about the complex is that the pools and gym are on the smaller side, and the complex does not have a communal study/conference space. Finally, the parking lot is for residents only, so guests must park streetside.

Overall, I have been very happy living at South Junction, and I plan to stay, at least until graduation.

Best value for South Main Apartments

This is the best value for South Main Apartments. It has laminate flooring in the bathrooms, living room, and kitchen, with carpet in the bedrooms. Our apartment has a balcony which is perfect for a morning cup of coffee in the fall time. Every parking lot is gated and has pedestrian gate access as well. There are 2 pools you can access and a dog park just for our apartment!

South Junction

I’ve been living on my own here since June 2022 and have not encountered any situations where I felt uncomfortable. There’s a courtesy police officer that lives at the apartment police for any non-emergent help. I feel very safe and my needs are accommodated for at an appropriate time.

Complex is updated, gated, and close commute to UTHSC

My experience was good and convenient. The commute to campus is less than 10 minutes and it's next to Loflin Yard. Anytime a maintenance request was put in, I was notified that it was submitted, then who was assigned, and when it was completed.
Downsides are there is no guest parking, you have to go thru Xfinity and MLGW, and plus/minus is near downtown (very close to South Main).

South Line

I have thoroughly enjoyed living at Southline. I think the management team is great, as are the maintenance staff who have continuously resolved any issues that arise in a timely manner. My rent is a bit higher for a 1bd because I have the bedroom + flex space (i.e., an additional room I use as a home study room/office). I also like that the area it is located in is safe, near businesses, South Main (trolley nights!), farmers market, etc. My only complaint about the complex would be the inability to get guest parking passes when people visit (they must park street-side outside the gate). 10/10.

Great Apartments!

I have loved living at South Junction. Our apartment is very airy and updated with lots of natural lighting and huge closets. The gym is great and there are nice outdoor areas and pools for tenants to use. No complaints!

Noisy but otherwise good

It is right next to the train tracks which can be super loud. Some of the buildings close to loflin yard can be noisy on weekend nights. People like to race loud cars on the street that heads to downtown. Other than the noise apartment overall was good. They did not do a good job cleaning the place before I moved in.

South Junction apartments

I lived at South Junction for a year. I was close to the medical district, which was convenient for class and work. It is also close to downtown, which made it easy to go to Grizzlies games or try new restaurants. The apartment itself felt safe to me as they sometimes had security patrol, but the area around the apartments is a little sketchy. Management was very attentive when we had issues and maintenance was great as well. It was noisy, both because of other tenants as well as being in a city. Trains constantly pass by, so that was a little loud.

SJ apartments

This is an expensive apartment but it has a gym, 2 pools, and great maintenance response. It is also in a great location next to loflin and really close to MFM and other businesses. The only downfall is the train and how expensive it is.
