great place to be for UTHSC
Orleans review
Great apartments, good price
Need better amenities. No apartment gym or office space.
Maintenance needs to be better
Continence to campus great. 5 min walk to GEB or library. 3 min walk to SAC
Orleans Station
The main benefit of Orleans is that it is a close walking distance. The surrounding area is fine but I wouldn't venture too far out past the block. If you want a place with the highest level of safety and suburb feel then mud island is better, but Orleans is perfectly fine and has the advantage of being close.
great location, great property
Close to school/hospitals, gated community, great pool, spacious plans, new build, clean apartment/property
South Junction is Fantastic
I've lived at South Junction Apartments since the beginning of M2 year. I've found that it is a perfect living situation for med school. It's about an 8 minute drive from campus, and walking distance to Tom Lee Park and South Main. The apartment is spacious with lots of closet space. There is a washer/dryer in every unit. Maintenance is very accommodating and responsive. Also, there is an option to sign a 3, 6, or 9 month lease without an increase in rent. There is a small gym and 2 small pools on the property. The only negative things I can say about the complex is that the pools and gym are on the smaller side, and the complex does not have a communal study/conference space. Finally, the parking lot is for residents only, so guests must park streetside.
Overall, I have been very happy living at South Junction, and I plan to stay, at least until graduation.
Walkable and safe!
The apartments are connected to a neighborhood with a brick wall surrounding. It’s downtown so anywhere is walkable! I’ve gone to grizzlies games and walked to Beale street many times. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in Memphis!
Convenience for UTHSC students
I would only recommend this place if you are a UTHSC student.
Price is very similar to other apartment complexes on mud island which provide more amenities like a gym and is a generally better area of Memphis.
The biggest upside to here is that you are able to walk to UTHSC from here which means you can skip driving every day and can leave much later in the morning.
Best value for South Main Apartments
This is the best value for South Main Apartments. It has laminate flooring in the bathrooms, living room, and kitchen, with carpet in the bedrooms. Our apartment has a balcony which is perfect for a morning cup of coffee in the fall time. Every parking lot is gated and has pedestrian gate access as well. There are 2 pools you can access and a dog park just for our apartment!
Close to Campus! Beautiful complex
I’ve lived living at Orleans so far. It’s right next to the student parking garage, so you are walking the same amount of time as all of the other students to get to classes. They don’t have a gym on site because the school gym is across the block. My only complaints are that there isn’t a trash valet system with how expensive rent is and that management takes a while to address needs.
Great community!
South Bluffs is super safe and the staff is awesome! I have lived at other apartments in the Memphis area but none have been as clean, safe, and serene as South Bluffs!
Love Living Here
Orleans Station has been amazing! The rooms are spacious and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of space. The pool is amazing during the summer. The best part is its proximity to UTHSC with just a 5 minute walk. I also feel very safe around the property. The one issue I’ve had is the side doors in some buildings haven’t been opening from the outside with the key fob.
Orleans Station
Within walking distance to campus, restaurants, and coffee shop.
South Bluffs Apartments Review
Great apartment
Great place
Nice safe place to live
Orleans Station
Generally pretty good and responsive. They’re new and still working out some kinks. Biggest issue I’ve had is Ethernet hasn’t been set up, so you’re pretty much forced to use the in unit WiFi. Which is fine, it was just frustrating to know they basically didn’t finish building the place and installed Ethernet ports for nothing. Same kind of issue with the FOBs not working on exterior doors.
Otherwise, I’ve loved living here. It’s super close to campus the apartment is great and I’ve been really happy living here. There are a ton of other students and it’s easy to get together with people.
