Grand Island Review
I've enjoyed my time at Grand Island so far. I feel safe, and the apartments are nice. The management has gotten better since it was switched in March so that's a plus too. I wish the gym and pool area were bigger.

Overpriced, Neglectful Management
Mud Island is a good spot for first-year students. A lot of students live by themselves the first year, and it is expensive. Grand Island has a good geographical location, but the management is not where it needs to be. I was already paying a lot to live there, and my A/C unit was off and on broken the entire year. I put in probably 12 maintenance requests, and they tried to tell me I needed to buy a portable air conditioner instead of fixing the broken one. The broken A/C made my electricity bill usually around 120 a month, which is crazy for a 900sq/ft apartment. That did not include water and trash.
I was very happy to move out. I now live with a roommate in South Main, I pay hundreds of dollars less a month, and it is great here. My recommendation is to rent a house on Mud Island with a roommate if possible.

Good place to live
Overall, grand island is a nice place to live. It is in a good location and gated. New management has been helpful and putting a lot of effort into the community. Nice amenities and big apartments that have been recently updated.

Great Management
The management is very helpful, when we were getting approved for our apartment they walked us through every step. Keep in mind Grand Island is located close to the I-40 bridge over the Mississippi River and can be loud at times.

I plan on living here all 4 years!
Overall, I have had a positive experience at my apartment. The apartments are huge, parking is ample and gated, and apartments were just updated so they’re basically new! Nice and safe on mud island, and on the newer side of the island so less power problems that the other side gets. Also washer and dryer work well which I have found to be rare. Main problems would be that management has been rough, but a new company just took over. Not a lot of storage space in the kitchen for two people. The gym is pretty small but it’s really nice along with a nice common area. Gates also break sometimes. Overall I’m happy with this apartment, enough to live here all 4 years (which I have never done while in school). Mud island tends to have apartments that are older, and I think these are the most updated modern apartments on the island!

Good
Fine but takes long time for maintenance orders and not very responsive to emails or calls. The apartment is nice inside with updated amenities.

Grand Island Apartment Review
Grand Island is quiet, safe, and all around a great place to live. Although a little pricey, the management is friendly and the apartments are nice and spacious. There is access to a gym, outdoor pool, and clubhouse. There are lots of other students living here. It also also minute from downtown, and about 10 minutes from the college of pharmacy. There is also a great view of the bass pro pyramid and the Mississippi River. My only complaint is that the gate for the “gated community” has been open the past two weeks; however, there is typically a police officer posted out front and have not been any issues that I am aware of.

Grand Island Apartment
It is a relatively safe living environment. The complex is gated; however, the gate has been broken so far more than it has actually worked. They have really nice amenities, too.
