Blu on Farrington

I've loved living at Blu on Farrington. Their amenities have helped me become friends with many of my neighbors and classmates. As a student, I especially appreciate the study area and having a printer I can access.

Blu has spacious apartments with quality finishes. The front office and maintenance workers are quick to respond and frequently hosts contests, food trucks, and resident appreciation days. The pool and outdoor deck are super spacious and a great place to hang out. About 10% of the 2022 class lives at the Blu which makes it easy to make friends.

Nothing great or terrible to say about Blu on Farrington. The management is fine, the amenities are fine. The worst part is having to drive everywhere, but the spacious apartment has been nice during Covid. Try to get a top-floor apartment if you can. Walls are thick but floors/ceilings are thin.

I love the MBA community at Blu, but sometimes I wish I were closer to campus/Franklin Street

A great place to live 15 minutes from UNC campus.

Blu on Farrington is on a great location right off the highway, between Chapel Hill and Durham. It's a short 5-10 minute drive to KFBS and convenient to many shopping strips. It's popular among MBAs as well, which has been nice during the pandemic. You are still able to get the feeling that you're not alone in the program. Lastly, there are many couples and dog owners in the community.

Alta Blu - great place for MBA students

Great community (20+ first year MBAs) are living here. Very nice amenities - pool, new everything in units, decent sized gym, free coffee, etc.

Positive experience overall. I highly recommend that incoming students live there. The biggest thing is that it's brand new, so compared to the morgan and others, it's preferable. There is tons of space in the apartments, the pool is amazing, the lounge area is really nice, it's mostly grad students, and it's clean. The positives far outweigh the negatives, but I will list the negatives here as well:
-It's a bit far (about 10 minutes to get to McColl)
-They haven't figured out the package receiving process yet (I'm sure they will, as management is good).
-The walls are somewhat thin, but not terribly so

So far so good. This is a good place to live if you value a newer property and are okay with living away from campus. The commute is around 10-15 minutes each way, depending on traffic.
