Morton Grad

My experience at Morton Grad was really positive. We signed the lease site unseen so we were nervous, but it was everything we were looking for -- clean, modern appliances, spacious, and plenty of light (we had a corner room). One downside is the fact that there is no elevator, so moving furniture in and out is horrible and having guests climb 3 flights of stairs isn't great. Because the building is only grad students, we never had to worry about it being super noisy. Also have access to the 10th & College clubhouse, gym, pool, etc. But had a really terrible wasp problem for a month or so that they couldn't seem to resolve.

Thin walls

Walls are extremely thin. I can hear my neighbor above very clearly, along with either neighbor on my sides. However, it is generally quiet - sometimes you can hear a couple undergrads partying nearby, and sirens/car chases, but it's quite for the most part (minus the neighbor upstairs walking around at all hours of the night waking me up).

Morton Grad

The building has large apartments and is relatively quiet since it focuses on grad students. Parking is available on site. There is a gym, pool, and clubhouse that residents are able to access about a block away. The MBA program hosts many events at the clubhouse.

Housing

Very clean and upscale unit with amenities like open kitchen, exposed brick wall, washer & Dryer, and dishwasher in unit. The one con is there is no elevator so if you live on the 3rd and 4th floor you’ll have to be comfortable with walking up.

Great apartment

Great living arrangement. Quiet building, but still close to everything. Only things I would change would be having an elevator in the building and inside entry. That said, I am very happy living here.

Top notch but relatively expensive

Large apartment with nice furnishings. Probably the best combination of apartment size and quality in Bloomington, but the price is also one of the highest. Pool, Gym, and Clubhouse for events on premises.

Quick walk to the bars. 1 mile to Kelley.

Thick walls - can't hear neighbors. No pets allowed.

Lots of MBAs live in the Tenth and College complex, or in apartments nearby.

No elevator in the building could be a problem for some. Parking is $130ish extra.

Cheaply made and overpriced, but a good location

Morton Grad (and my unit in particular) feels cheaply made and overpriced. I have had issues with my refrigerator and dishwasher. The windows in the unit face north and south and lots of buildings surround the complex, which means not a lot of natural light gets into the building. Spiders are quite literally everywhere, no matter how clean the apartment is. I had a leak from the floor in two spots during a period of heavy rain.

The location is not far from bars, but far enough to not be noisy.
