Tenth and College

Taking value, unit, and location into account, this is the best apartment complex I have ever lived in

Cedarview Management Finds New Ways to Rip Residents Off

I've lived in multiple Cedarview Management buildings. My prior building was fine - walk up, but no issues with the apartment. Expensive, but good for the location. Garage parking was a block down the street which was annoying during the winter. I had no issues with the management at the time, so I renewed with them but switched buildings.

The new apartment is terrible - I'm woken up at 5 AM every morning by the loudest garbage truck in the world. All of my appliances are from 2004 and do not work well. The management company won't replace the appliances. They do not have a model unit, so they give tours through rented units (so strangers are invited to tour your apartment whenever the management company wants). They have tried on multiple occasions to double charge me for rent or utilities, and they had a MBA Special for hundreds of dollars off if you renew that they did not honor for ANY MBA students. In total, I've had to fight for thousands of dollars, which has taken me months to resolve because they are very unresponsive. I have lived in several major cities, and this is the most expensive and worst apartment I have ever rented. I regret renting from them and would strongly advise against any Cedarview Management property. Also the gym sucks.

Security deposit

They took $200 from my deposit and the same amount from my roommate. I consider my department was in good perfect conditions and I cleaned the entire apartment.
Their explanations about that payment were too generic and related about annual maintenance.
