Do not rent here
I cannot urge you enough to avoid renting at the Oasis at Speedway or any property managed by Hyde Park Collective.
In the year I lived here, I found that the management was consistently either unwilling to assist in issues that came up or too disorganized to have any capacity to respond. Some of these issues included repeated electrical failure in my unit, and the arrival of downstairs neighbors who were extremely noisy most nights, talking and playing loud music until as late as 6AM. When asked for assistance management sometimes said they would address the issue and sometimes insisted that there was nothing to be done about the problem or that they had no obligation to address the disruptive behavior of their tenants.
Finally, despite following their instructions for move out to the letter, the Oasis continue to attempt to bill me for rent and utilities after my move out. It took over 3 months, dozens of phone calls, emails, and too many hours of my time, and threatening to sue in small claims court to convince them that I had, in fact, moved out and to recover my security deposit. (If you're in this situation - contact their owner, CSC Management. They were my only recourse in this situation.)
Again, stay away from this place and Hyde Park Management. There are comparably priced apartments in Austin that are not falling apart inside and wildly mismanaged.

New neighbors not great
The apartment is fine, its a little older and maintenance has a very DIY approach, kitchen is small, but it works for a grad student.
Cute pool that's never busy, and location is great for getting to campus.
Maybe with the pandemic and rent being reduced to ~900, but the new neighbors that have moved in are no longer students and now older individuals that seem to love shouting, slamming doors, and being otherwise a pain. Hopefully if students move back in things will be calm as before.
Thefts in the area, but its the case for all of this neighborhood, again, a new development with the pandemic. Neighborhood feels very very safe except for package thefts/motorcycle thefts.

Good experience at Oasis
Management is responsive, apartment has a pool and has many students. Quiet place to live in a good area next to a bus stop with frequent trips to UT
