Would not recommend Bell Lancaster. Live somewhere else on 7th!
Bell Lancaster is in a great location because it’s on 7th street. However, other than that, it’s not great. There is constant construction and it is not near as safe as the surrounding complexes. The gate and the locks on the building doors have been broken for months. The gym is comparable to a hotel gym and the public space is usually pretty dirty or shut down for construction. Overall, it is just not worth the price.
Most importantly, it is very loud due to the noise on 7th! Do not move here if you need silence to sleep or study.

Not safe or secure
My husband and I have lived in this apartment complex for over a year and a half. Honestly, the first year we really enjoyed it. Really our only complaint was the noise from the bars but you really do get used to it and that did not bother us much. The location is incredible. You are walking distance to LA Fitness and all the bars and restaurants on West 7th/Crockett row, and it very close to the law school.
But the last 6 months the apartment complex has gone completely down hill. About 6 months ago, apparently the entire security/access system for the apartment complex broke and they have yet to fix it. This affects all the exterior doors, the gate to the parking garage, and the package lockers. To start with the packages, since the lockers don't work anymore, delivery drivers either just leave them sitting outside the lockers or in front of your door. I would say probably 70% of our packages are stolen/disappear if we don’t pick them up immediately after they are delivered. We have complained to management countless times about this, but nothing has been done.
The parking garage gate being broken is our absolute biggest issue. Since the gate has been broken, cars are broken into, vandalized, and stolen from all the time. My husband truck has the license plates stolen from, which is an absolute hassle to replace. A month later, his truck was broken into. The windows were all smashed, his seats were torn up, and they stolen everything out of the truck. This is costing us over $1000 to fix. Aside from the money, the apartment just feels incredibly unsafe at this point. All of this is happening just 10 ft from our apartment door and because I walk my dog late at night and early in the morning, we are very uncomfortable living here.
After everything that happened, we approached management about letting us break our lease and while they were understanding, they were not helpful at all. They are still making us give 60 days notice and pay $4000 to break the lease. Even though it is going to cost us so much, we are planning to move and will hopefully be out by next month.
Overall, living here as a student has been incredibly stressful because it has cost us so much and led to so much headache getting our cars fixed. I would never recommend this apartment.

Bell Lancaster
Close to campus but, depending on where your apartment is, it can be noisy. For example, if your apartment faces Bledsoe then you are going to have lots of noise between the hours of 11pm to 2:30 am Wednesday through Sunday. However if your apartment is located inside the building (as in the apartment does not face a street but instead faces the pool or the dog park) then you most likely not get much noise.

Great location but it is loud
Love the location of the apartment. Right by 7th street, so walking distance to a ton of bars, restaurants, and LA Fitness. The rent is a little bit more expensive because of the location but our apartment is very nice and very big. Biggest downside is that on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights it can be very loud outside because of all the bars.

You will love Bell Lancaster if you do not mind some noise.
I love living in Bell Lancaster, I have absolutely no issues with it and plan on living here throughout the rest of law school. I haven't had any maintenance issues, except for when I broke my blinds- the maintenance staff came the next day and fixed it right away. It feels very safe, which is very important to me as I live alone. The front desk staff is very helpful, the property is always clean, and parking/ guest parking is never an issue.
I love the location of it, so many coffee shops, restaurants, bars, etc. are less than a 5 min walk away.
However, it can be slightly noisy from the crowds and bars on 7th street- mostly on Friday and Saturday nights. I personally do not mind it, as it has never kept me awake or kept me from studying. But, if you are sensitive to noise, maybe pick somewhere else to live.

Look, it's good enough for me
This apartment is clean, spacious, and in a great location, but it has some major issues. Being right in the middle of the bar district means that it is very loud from 8 pm to 3 am Thursday through Sunday. Invest in a sound machine. Also, for the first two months of living there, I called maintenance at least once a week. Half the time, I had to call multiple times before they actually fixed the issue. I am low maintenance, so I am perfectly happy living here, but I would not recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet, responsive apartment complex.

Bell Lancaster Apartment
I really enjoy my apartment and its proximity to the law school. Prices have gone up in the last year, but not so much so that I wished to move. The maintenance staff is very helpful and responsive.

Amazing
Staff is very friendly and they helped me process my application and move in the same day after having to move out from another apartment complex that turned out not to be what I signed up for.

Incredible Apartment for students; close to the school!
I have had an amazing experience at Bell Lancaster. The staff is incredibly helpful/attentive, and the apartments are beautiful. The community is friendly, yet quiet enough to not interfere with my studies. You have easy access to fun things to do in your free time while still being close to the school.
