Tried and true
Bristol is the go-to med student building for a reason. Short walking commute to the hospital is unbeatable. My 1-bedroom feels huge and has great closet space. Units facing 29th ave enjoy a great view of Vandy football stadium and the new gothic tower. Love the pool area and grills.

Varies by owner
Excellent! Wonderful and responsive owner, less awesome building management, less fancy than some of the other apartments in the area but it's nice to have access to so many other people in the class. We've had some issues with electricity and pests to which management has been less than responsive, but our owner is very good so it works out.

Convenient, nice apartments but poor management
Close to campus (easy to walk + there is a free shuttle that leaves from the parking lot across the street) and the apartments are nice and spacious. There are many graduate and medical students that also live in this building. My only complaint is the terrible management -- the manager, Darleen, is not open to feedback and seeks out opportunities to fine residents. Notably, the minimum fine for any violations (trash, parking, pets, plants on balcony, etc.) is normally $250 and non-negotiable! Some maintenance repairs have taken many weeks to get fixed with little urgency demonstrated by management and no communication on updates on the request.

Bristol West End
Bristol West End is a great place to live.
It is very close to the medical school building (less than a 10 min walk). It is also right next to a shuttle that goes to and from the medical school building.
The building is nice but nothing overly special. There is a pool and a gym and they are decent.
Apartments are nice but on the more expensive side.
Also a lot of medical students live in the complex which is nice.

Nice apartment nearby campus!
Very close to campus, nice amenities, lots of medical students live here! Management can be a pain sometimes

Great Location
the convenience of Bristol cannot be beat. You are a short walk or shuttle ride away from the hospital, which especially during clerkship year when you have a 4AM surgery start time is huge. It has a pool and small gym and lots of medical students live there to socialize. The one downside is it is a building with a bit of a stickler manager, and breaking apartment rules carries hefty fines. If you read rules ahead of time and are a respectful neighbor, though, should not be an issue.

Bristol West End
Very clean. Great location. Shuttle service is a lifesaver. Also love how close I am to Vanderbilt’s rec center not to mention the building itself has a small gym, pool, and lounge.

BWE Review
Apartment is close to campus (15 min walk) as well as VUMC shuttle service in the parking lot across from the apartment. Apartments are spacious with hardwood floors, granite countertops, and new appliances. Gym is sufficient but campus gym is 5 min walk for greater facilities. Pool space also has grilling and fire pits for hosting gatherings. Management is responsive but many HOA rules.

Great building, not great management
Great medical school community, comfortable apartment. We have had trouble with responsiveness of the on-site building manager.

Very close to campus, strict HOA
Great location, can walk to campus or take the shuttle. Very nice units. Nice pool, decent gym. Relatively quiet. Most neighbors are med students. The balconies are very small with metal floors, can't sit comfortably and not allowed to have furniture/plants. HOA is strict with decorating, cars, bikes, etc. But keeps the property looking nice
