Maplewood Apartments

I had a great experience at Maplewood, the property is well placed and maintained, the gym is on site and included with rent, and the staff is lovely and very responsive.

Definitely one of the best value apartment complexes in Ithaca. Other places are way more expensive for a similar place, or cheaper and you get much less. I rarely interact with management except for picking up mail, which is a good sign. Outside of that they've been very responsive (even later in the evening) to any requests here and there. The gym is mostly everything you need. It's close to the bus stop and only a ~15 minute walk to the south side of campus, with a great gorge walk on the way. However, it's pretty far out of the way from the downtown night life.

Maplewood is a great place to live!

Rooms are decently sized and environment is tidy. The price is also great for the value you get. My only complaint is that you don't get to see what unit you'll be assigned to prior to signing the lease.

Best rates for a room in Ithaca, much cheaper than CTT and other apartments downtown. Gym is small, and bedrooms are small, but common space and kitchen is a good size and fairly modern.

Good Apartment

I think Maplewood hits most if not all of the boxes for living considerations in Ithaca: pricing, quality, community, location, safety and facilities. I love it! If you can secure a place at Maplewood (or put yourself on the transfer list or waitlist) then consider yourself very lucky. Cornell should look into having more university-run off-campus accommodation like Maplewood.

Easy walk to campus, furnished apartment with all utilities included. Overall I’d recommend Maplewood as the best bang for your buck. The gym is small, but works, and the in unit washer/dryer is super nice.

Good value for money

Please DO double think about it when you wanna move into Maplewood, as it is managed by Greaystar. This means you may have such a difficulty in getting your deposit back.

My lease ended 7/31/23 and it is now 12/5/23 and I have still not received my security deposit, neither a statement. By NY law you must return the security deposit within 14 days. I have contacted the staff at maplewood several times, what they can do is just tell me to contact Greystar, yet it is nearly impossible to get a person answer my call and email. I have never ever had missing checks before. Will never be renting with Greystar again. Disgusting!
