THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!

Another review for this terrible complex. How do I come home to a leaking light bulb?? My light bulb was leaking water!! Not the entire fixture, just the light bulb! I put in a work order and because the light was not leaking at the very moment they came into my apartment, they marked my work order as completed. When I called the leasing office to ask for a follow up, I was told to wait until it leaked again and then put in another work order. Does that make sense to anyone?? How is this not a safety hazard? This has to be the most ghetto apartments I have ever lived in. Homeless people live here with us, rent free. It's just so much wrong with this place. I don't know if I'm in Buckhead or Bankhead.

Absolutely terrible place to live

Start by reading all the reviews from all apartment review sites and you’ll understand what you’ll be getting yourself into moving here. This has got to be the worst apartment complex in Atlanta. I am warning you. Do not live here. Nothing is luxurious about this place as they advertise. The gate is always broken and the hallways are terrible. There are always break in s here. i had a guest of mine car broke into after living here only a month. Today makes the second day time someone has entered my home and left my door unlocked and my lights on.

The leasing office is terrible and has no care. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! This place is piss poor ! If you move here after reading this, don’t complain because i am literally warning you

Nothing Optimistic about these Lofts

December Update: I still have mold in my home. I had to get Code Enforcement involved for them to fix the initial problem I brought to them. Per my last reviews, you can see the maintenance team cut the entire lower half of my closet out, even though I did not report that area for having mold. However, from the previous pictures, you can see there is wet, moldy wood in the foundation. After replacing the wall to the lower half of my closet, I started to experience a leakage through the rebuilt wall, which I had never had before. Not too long after, that leakage area grew mold (pictured below). They never addressed the initial mold at the top of my closet, as they expected to simply paint over it (as I was told). The mold has grown back thicker and is spreading. I have been here since August and I have NEVER been able to use my closet due to this situation. When the Code Enforcement inspector came through, she mentioned that I should not even been living there, as they should have been moved me out. They are coming back tomorrow, after waiting a month, to remediate the mold, once again. While they remediate my home, they expect me to sleep in this open, moldy environment for days, along with leaving fans and dehumidifiers running for days as well. They told me that they would not reduce rent nor help with any electrical bills. Considering the mold is in my bathroom closet, how am I supposed to shower or sleep without putting myself at risk? And they still expect their full rent, even though I have been going through this since August. Also, why is that apartments are not required to hire qualified vendors? Optimist Lofts allows their maintenance men to handle the job. SMH. I will be back with an update prior to the "remediation" . I do not advise living here, once again!

Terrible Place- You are being warned

UPDATE: I have now been living here for almost two months (Oct 11 makes 2 months). Since I told them I had mold a couple of weeks ago, they sent someone to check my A/C because it was not working. Upon looking in the air filter, the professionals informed them that it needed to be cleaned immediately (mine and the apartment above mine), as that was what was causing the leakages. The leasing office did not take immediate action as recommended, causing me to wake up again to another leakage this past Monday morning. Unless something is leaking, it will not get fixed in this place. Where I am confused...isn't it required for air filters to be changed seasonly? They do not do that here which is why we have so many leakages. I've provided pictures of the homes of other units to prove the ventilation is not being checked as often as it should be. Tuesday, my car was hit in the parking deck, but from rumors, of course the cameras do not work, but I will know for sure after the footage is subpoenaed. Regarding the mold, they just sent someone in yesterday to do what I thought was regular cleaning to the affected area, as I was told. I was never informed that the mold would require them to cut the entire lower half of my bathroom closet out, and they still have more to cut, as majority of the black mold was discovered at the top of the closet. I was not notified of any wall cutting, and they even allowed me to come home to see it myself, no warning until later with an email, after I had been in my home for a while. I have told them before multiple times, i have asthma, that is how I discovered the mold in the first place, it became hard to breathe. They did not offer another apartment for me to move into in the meantime. When I asked, I was told I would have to pay an up-charge for it. Crazy! So not only is my entire wall cut out, the people completing the job decided to dumb the nasty, water from the pipes inside my bath tub, little did they know, maintenance had not fulfilled my request (put in on 09/18) regarding the backup in my tub. Therefore, the nasty, moldy water they poured in my tub sat there for a while, until it finally drained and dried. There is such a nasty residue in my tub, plus the drainage backup, I could not even shower. They also have to leave floor fans running for days until the is resolved, and I was told there would be no help towards my power bill, as I already had an increase due to me having to leave a dehumidifier on during the times I had mold and no A/C. Also, our security is backwards. How can you not call the police if you see someone breaking in our car? They can only call us, but they do not have numbers for us, nor do they know who car belongs to who. I'll include a picture of a homeless man digging through our trash, as this is an everyday thing. Did i mention they come in groups, with bags? So in all, do not move here! They do not care. The property manager is so secure in her seat, these comments dont even bother her, as the same things from reviews in March of this year and prior all express the same things. They do not check air filters, allow homes to leak, blame you for it, and require you pay same months rent. I took time out my day to warn you all, this is not worth your hard earned money. I have never experienced something like this. Am I on buckhead or bankhead?
Pictures include: cut open wall that I came home to, the multiple leakages that appeared in my home after I moved in (some having mold residue still there), my tub with the nasty residue, and a neighbors air vent.

Terrible Place- You are being warned

This has been a terrible experience ever since I moved in about a month ago. Mind you, I have only been here a month. My apartment WAS NOT cleaned prior to my move in, as there was black glue all over the floor (and still is because its too hard to get up), lights not working, toilet bowl was filthy, and now there is mold growing my home, and to top it off, there is no functioning air conditioning running through my home. I have asthma and the rent office told me they did not care, Ill just have to wait until they can fix it. My second week living here, my guest had their car broken into, after numerous complaints to them regarding the broken entry gate. The trash dumps are always overfilled and we have homeless people who dumpster dive every single day, morning and night. There's trash all around the property. The gym equipment is trash and low quality, considering how much we pay in rent. I was told to find a hotel when I told them about the mold... crazy!

They also leave the maintenance room unlocked. This room has access to the power in all apartments in that building. As previously mentioned, we have homeless people who walk our hallways, they can easily go in the maintenance room and do anything they please. Not safe!

This is not worth living or spending your hard earned money. I lived in apartments in the hood for much better quality and lower rent. More homeless people walk our community more than the actual residents. Security does nothing.
Don't say you weren't warned!

Allyson Jackson is very passive aggressive and does not care about the community members. She even got highly aggressive with me when I addressed them about the terrible living conditions we live in. Don't let the rent office trying to respond to this complaint make you think they care. They do not, as they have verbally told me. I wish a could leave a brick as a review because even 1 star is too much.

Optimist Lofts

The staff makes the difference. They are always willing to help. The building is nice; however, the amenities are an area that requires major improvement. The gym and pool need renovation before the summer starts. The location is great and the looks of the homes inside are great.

Cute complex with lots of potential

This complex has a lot of potential but just unfortunately is not making the cut right now. The new management company has made several improvements. Trying to get maintenance items taken care of has been an issue, the pool furniture is all broken, the gates to the parking deck are almost always broken. The units themselves are great and very nice - the complex just needs some work.
