It's fine.

Chosen for close proximity to anesthesiologist assistant program office. Expensive, but reasonably nice. Maintenence is very responsive, and office staff is nice. But the walls are thin, and there's pool parties ALL the time in the summer, which can get kinda loud, and annoying when you've got to be up early.

Awesome experience

Extremely well maintained place and the management company is awesome. Super responsive and gets any needed repairs done the same day. Also an awesome place if you have a dog. Lots of great dog owners here and has two dog runs for them to play. Also right on the shuttle line so I don't have to pay for campus parking.

Cortland Druid Hills - a good option

Cortland is a good complex, and so far has been well managed. The staff is very responsive, and every time my partner and I have had a request it's been handled within 2 days. The building looks nice, and I never have an issue with parking. I took the Emory bus to school for my first and second semester, and there is a bus stop directly in front of the building, so that part is extremely convenient. The unit itself is good, non-furnished, but has all the essentials (microwave, oven, washer, dryer). The installed pieces are of decent quality, though the floors should be higher quality. I rarely hear my neighbors, although the one above me jumps around frequently (workouts?) and that is audible especially at night. Overall, the units are nicer than at Post.

The bad: it's more expensive than others, and it's not like the units are THAT nice. There was a fruit fly problem in the apartment early on in the pandemic and we get cockroaches. I will stipulate: we are clean. Plain and simple. I don't get cockroaches elsewhere, but this building gets them. Each time we have, we've had one of the staff come and set up traps, and it's not a constant everyday problem, but they're massive in Georgia and even seeing one is uncomfortable. They're not year round, seems to be heading into and leaving the winter, but keep that in mind. Finally, if you will be living with a partner, I recommend getting a 2 bedroom, especially if you and or your partner/roommate do any work at home. You'll really appreciate the extra space.

Execellent Property

Excellent property, the management staff is always super helpful, on the Emory shuttle route, very close to mid-town on one side and also to the freeway towards the north of Atlanta. Extremely safe neighborhood. Plaza is 5 mins walk having good restaurants and salons. Target is also very close.
Closet space may not be sufficient for people like us who are not really a minimalist.!

Great place to live

I love it here at Cortland North Druid Hills. I live alone and it is very safe and it is definitely one of the nicest apartment complexes in the area, at an affordable rent. It is right on the shuttle line so you just walk outside and can catch the shuttle to campus.

Very happy!

I've been very happy with the management, amenities, and overall living situation at Seven by Cortland. The property management changed late last year which is always unpredictable, but they have been amazing about being responsive to tenants and making updates to the community and individual apartments.

Getting around North Druid Hills

North Druid Hills Reviews

It's a prime location for getting around the city! I can get to midtown, Decatur, inman park, etc. in about a 20 min drive or less. The drive to school each morning is about 10-15 mins with little to no traffic. The area is safe with tons of restaurants and shopping. The only downside is that it's not close to any prime nightlife scene, but Ubers aren't too expensive. Incredibly safe which is something I was looking for as a woman living alone. There's no perfect place, but for the amount of space I have (850 sq ft), safety, proximity to school, and easy access to other areas in the city, it can't be beat.
North Druid Hills is a lovely neighborhood and one that I am happy to be living in as my first exposure to Atlanta. There are beautiful tree lined streets and its proximity to Emory is a great selling point.
Beautiful houses and trees, calm, quiet community.
It's an open area with trees. Very close to Emory campus as well as the Toco Hills plaza (Kroger, Publix, many restaurants). Further down Clairmont at the intersection with North Decatur road, there's another Publix as well as some other restaurants in the plaza.

Golden Drop Cafe--which has outdoor seating incase the pandemic is still uncontrolled when you read this--is just 3 min. down the road. Mason Mill Park, which has tennis courts, a pavillion, and walking trails, is also very near.
Very convenient location as far being somewhat close to a lot of different areas though it itself isn't where the night life or all the best restaurant areas are. Lots of grocery options very close by, including Whole Foods, Krogers and Publix.
My wife and I love walking through the beautiful homes in the local neighborhood. It is a very safe area even at night.
You can find any type of store or restaurant that you would ever need within a 5-15 minute drive.
My wife and I go on walks around sunset most nights through the neighborhood. Have never felt unsafe. Neighbors are all very friendly along our walks. Lots of beautiful homes to gawk at.
