The Met Review
It has so far been a great experience. The floor plans are spacious and the management and the concierge are very helpful when it comes to any problems you may face. They have secure package delivery, and amazon/food deliveries that are delivered to your doorstep. Moreover, the amenities are good enough. There is a patio area, pool, hot tubs and an indoor/outdoor gym. It is also pet friendly! We did have a pest problem, but the apartment was quick to help us rectify it. The location is great in terms of being close to campus and having various transit options nearby. In terms of safety, the building itself is very safe and secure. The surrounding area, however, just depends and is not in control of the building. Nonetheless, I would say that this is a safer area/part of DTLA.

It does the job
I like the Met! Our apartment was newly renovated and has new appliances with laminate "hardwood" floors. The building is nice with a great pool and good amenities. The front desk staff are incredibly nice and greet us by name every time we come home. There's a bus stop across the street that will take you straight to campus. Being downtown means that it's fairly noisy but that's just what it's like living in a city.

The Met
The Met is a solid building that is conveniently located to transit for quick access to campus. There are newer and more shinier buildings in the area, but this one provides a bit more value for your dollar in my opinion. There have been some ongoing maintenance issues that, I presume, have simply to do with the building being a bit older. However, the interior of the building and units is updated and nice.

Great Location for USC
Can take the train or bus to campus (15-20 minute total commute). The bus stops right outside of the apartment. The train is two blocks away. The apartments are decent and the management team has been very responsive and friendly.

Nice Apartment Complex w. Amenities & OK management
I really enjoyed living at The Met during my first year. The building is an 8 minute drive to campus and the bus stop is right in front of the building. There was a pool, laundry on every floor, and a gym (my favorite part). There is parking and a front desk to manage packages, guests, and general security. There are nicer gyms at other apartments, but this one got the job done. A lot of the people that live in this building are FIDM students (FIDM is across the street), so there will be a younger crowd - but it isn't too noisy or anything. When I lived there, the management was OK - they weren't the most resident-friendly, but I've heard that mgmt has changed. It wasn't a bad place to live under that management, you just always knew that something you asked for was going to be a bigger deal than it really should be. (I lived there Fall 2017/Spring 2018)
