Brooklyn Heights
Pros:
- 5 minute walk to the A/C, 2/3, 4/5, F, G, R - yep, all of them
- 25 minute commute to Stern from Jay Street Station - I admit bodies of water can be intimidating, but Brooklyn's closer than you think
- Avoid the crowds of Manhattan on the weekends - if you're into having a little peace in your life
- Awesome yoga studios - check out Tangerine and Brooklyn Yoga Project
- Great for young families
- Great for pets
- YMCA (with full 25 yard pool), Equinox, Blink, NYSC all in walking distance
- 10 minute walk from Brooklyn Bridge Park - excellent spot for running and taking in the best views you can find of the Brooklyn Bridge and Downtown Manhattan
- Trader Joes centrally located - if you like not paying a 50% premium on your groceries
- Apartment rents are a far better value than anywhere in Manhattan
- Restaurants are incredible - check out Smith Street, Court Street and Montague Street
- If you're lucky, you might just see NYU's beloved Kyle Cunningham taking a stroll!
Cons:
- Few single people live in Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill/Boerum Hill. If you're looking for a partner, you probably won't find one here (everyone's taken)
- Bar scene is lacking - if you want to hit the town, you'll want to do it in Manhattan

Brooklyn Heights Reviews
There are 7 subway lines in or near the neighborhood, and it's only one subway stop away from Manhattan in most instances. It's not where people party on the weekends, but there are still plenty of places to eat and hang out if you're in the mood for a chill night. It's the kind of place you live if you want to go out elsewhere and come back home at the end of the night to your cute, quiet neighborhood.
The commute to Stern is about 30 minutes via subway--not bad, but if you're willing to pay more money for a smaller apartment, you probably want to look in Manhattan.
