Review of 474 N Lake Shore

474 N Lake Shore is an awesome place to live as a Feinberg student! The management and staff are very sweet and I've never felt anything but safe here. The amenities are very nice (includes hot tub, pool, sauna, great gym, beautiful rooftop). I haven't had a single issue with pests or faulty utilities or anything; everything has been perfect and the views of the lake are amazing!

The building has really nice amenities and most utilities are included in rent. All units have in unit laundry! It is about a 12-15 min walk to campus.

Amazing building

This building is very nice. It is an older building that has been renovated and each unit is different based on landlord renovations but the overall building is pretty modern looking. We have a pool, full gym, steam room, sauna and hot tub as well as a social room and sundeck with grills so many amenities

I really like this building, the doormen and other staff are great. The building also has a gym and pool that are helpful when the weather is bad/you're short on time to go to another gym.

474 N Lake Shore

We have had a great experience in this building! It's a condo so all utilities except electricity are included in our rent and electricity comes out to about $40 total per month for the entire unit. The building staff are friendly and helpful, and the building itself has a terrace, a huge gym w/ a pool, a well-organized mail/package system, and a social room that is open to residents unless otherwise booked. We also love that our living room is very spacious and has huge windows all around, with beautiful views of the lake and city! We have had to do a couple repairs around the apartment but building maintenance is very responsive when our landlord puts in requests.

Great apartment

My experience at 474 N Lake Shore has been great so far. The gym in the unit is one of the best for the area, the front desk staff are all wonderful, the sundeck on the 16th floor is a nice spot to hang out, and the views from my unit of lake michigan are unbeatable.

Great Place!

Excellent experience so far! Doorman are very friendly, tenants are great. Very quiet, good spot for people with families, pets, kids, etc, and great views from the lake side apartments. The gym doesn't have a squat rack if that matters! Highly recommend.

Great apartment!

I think our apartment building is great! Top notch amenities, especially the fitness center. It is fully capable with a pool, which outmatches all the other apartment complexes that friends of mine live in. Everyone on staff is incredibly nice and welcoming.

Perfect location for Feinberg, almost feels like a small slice of a college town because so many of your neighbors will be students, residents, nurses, etc at the hospital. You do get sirens fairly often depending on where you live since the emergency room is very close. The neighborhood doesn't have too many restaurants/bars but it is walking distance to River North and Gold Coast and the rest of the city is easily accessed by public transport. Much safer than most neighborhoods in Chicago.
Streeterville is a very nice neighborhood. There are plenty of parks and grocery stores. There is some late night crime due to the location downtown and close to the beach, but overall nothing worse than anywhere else.

There are some more expensive restaurants and fast food places. Navy Pier attracts a lot of tourists and they can be annoying to navigate around.
I enjoy living in Streeterville since it's near many of Chicago attractions without feeling overwhelming like in the Loop. I am able to walk around safely at night and I like going jogging in Millennium Park. My biggest complaint would be the lack of greenery in the area and how the city can feel a little bit insulating at times. Public transportation is great. This area is pricey, which is why I decided to have a roommate.
The Streeterville area was still pretty sleepy when I moved here three years ago. Since then, there has been an incredible amount of development. New luxury apartments and condos are going up, several new restaurants, a brand new target and Whole Foods. Its become a great place for professionals who enjoy living downtown, but without the club crowds in River North.
There are a few buses that are near by that help get residents down to the loop. Also it's pretty easy to walk around and the cross walks are pedestrian friendly. I'm always able to get around by foot and buses/trains. Streeterville is a very safe neighborhood and I've never felt unsafe walking around at night. The streets are well lit.
Noise is not usually too big of an issue in this neighborhood; it's pretty quiet at night.
There are multiple grocery stores nearby for multiple choices. Also there are a bunch of great places to eat so one will not get bored with options.
While on the expensive end in Chicago, streeterville is safe, has all the necessities (look for apts near grocery stores if you don't have a car!!), is super close to school (and most feinberg students so convenient for socializing), and is super close proximity to restaurants and bars.
This building is located in the center of everything you could possibly need. Whole foods and Jewel within walking distance, easy to get to the lake front, and plenty of good restaurants and bars. The only down side is that it does not really have a "neighborhoody" feel.
Love how close we are to the medical school, makes going to class really easy. A lot of students live in Streeterville so it is very easy to hangout with friends. There are also a few coffee shops in the neighborhood that are very fun to study at!
