Great Apartments for GW Students

My apartment is really nice and the building is in very good condition. It's an older building and every unit is individually owned, meaning the quality or "updating" within each can vary. My apartment has a nice updated kitchen and is pretty spacious.

Newly Renovated

Units vary since they are individually owned, but mine is newly renovated and ~650 sq ft overlooking the Potomac River. Includes rooftop pool, gym in the basement, and 24 hour doorman. Great location between GW hospital and the Georgetown waterfront. 2 min walk from Trader Joes and 3 min walk to GW hospital.

Excellent living in Foggy Bottom

I have lived at Claridge House for almost 4 years now and loved it. The building is maintained very well. There is a small gym in the basement, a community room, and a business center. A doorman is at the main entrance 24/7. You receive emails for packages that are delivered. The maintenance is very responsive. The apartments are individually owned and I rent from a landlord, not through the building. Most apartments are well maintained, but some may not have the most up to date amenities, depending on the landlord. We have not had any issues with insects or pests. Laundry facilities are in the basement. The location is great - 2 blocks from GW, a few blocks from Georgetown and Dupont Circle, 2 blocks from Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and 2 blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro. I'd highly recommend it!

2 bedroom apartment within walking distance of the school/hospital

The location has been great as a medical student, very close to the GW Hospital and Ross Hall. Rent is comparable to other apartment buildings in Foggy Bottom. A gym, rooftop pool, and 24-hour front desk are part of the complex. Our landlord is very responsive to all of our requests. The apartment is spacious enough and has fairly updated appliances. Overall a great place for medical students.

Great Place to Live as a 1L

I really love living in Claridge. The apartment is located about 5 minutes from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop (walking), five minutes to Trader Joe's (walking), 15 minutes to Dupont Circle (walking), and 10 minutes to the Georgetown Waterfront (walking). This apartment is great for a student who does not want to deal with the hassle of worrying about transportation to and from school or the general worries of city living (sky high utility costs, unsafe package drop off, etc). Many GW Law students also live here so there is always a community or a familiar face to see!

Quiet and comfy

The building is about half seniors, half young professionals, so it’s quiet. The units range greatly from older to newly renovated since unit ownership is individual. Experience will vary with different landlords I’m sure, but I’ve experienced nothing but good things.

Good price, Great Location

Decently priced studios that are close to the school. For the quality of my studio, I feel like I should be paying less, but the convenience of the location makes up for it.

Foggy Bottom Reviews

Lots of pretty row homes, walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, and my school. Lots of trees and a dog park near-by. Overall, very pretty and scenic to walk through, and also close to other neighborhoods and essential stores.
I like living in Foggy, it's easy to get to school but also is close to Georgetown, which is fun for food and shopping. The northern part of Foggy (near GW) is about 10 minute walk to Dupont too, which is great.
Short walk to Georgetown, West End, and Dupont Circle. Many restaurants nearby and close to metro so you can get to anywhere in the city conveniently.
Nice to be so close to school. Short walk from the mall and other tourist destinations. Bar/restaurant/night life scene leaves a lot to be desired.
It is really close to campus so a lot of GW folks live here! You can reach a lot of places on public transit.
Edge of Foggy Bottom bordering Georgetown - very safe and peaceful!
I personally enjoy the quietness of the neighborhood and its location within a close walking distance of campus, Georgetown, the water, and convenience/grocery stores. The neighborhood is also very safe, I am a woman in my early 20's and I have never felt unsafe walking home late at night near my apartment.
Foggy Bottom is a great place to live given the proximity to the law school. It's also within walking distance of Georgetown and Dupont Circle which are fun places to go out with friends and classmates. It's also has lots of bike racks for the Capital Bikeshare nearby, and the Foggy Bottom metro stop is a few blocks up the street.
