Love it

Great having a peloton in the exercise room and a great TV in the 12 floor common area.

Great but pricey

Overall a good apartment but overpriced for what is offered. I am sure there are options in broader Evanston that offer better value but between the popular Kellogg apartments (Centrum, E2, Galleria, McManus) Centrum might be the best.

Good amenities, good Kellogg community

Not cheap and doesn't have the same charm as some of the smaller buildings -- but lower-key than E2, with tons of Kellogg students. Appliances are nice, gym is nice, rooms are all new so still in good shape. Floors collect a little more dust for some reason, but relatively minor complaint.

Far from the Global Hub, but so far that hasn't been an issue. (There's always people splitting Ubers on the slack channel.) If you want to go into Chicago, it's nice to be right by the train lines.

Brand New

Centrum is brand new and I was the first one to live in my brand new apartment. I really like the building a lot and the amenities provided and have not had any issues with appliances or other maintenance items. The one big letdown is that they do not have a 24 hour member on site like some of the other apartment complexes in Evanston. It is also next to the train tracks and although the windows are very soundproof, the summer days with the window open is not ideal.

Brand new building, lots of Kellogg students

Brand new building with great amenities and a beautiful design. Walls are a bit thin and maintenance can take a while to respond but otherwise a great place to live. Ideal for anyone who commutes downtown regularly as it is the closest apartment building to both the L train and the Metra. Definitely recommend!

Great apartments - Long walk & Poor Parking Options

The apartments themselves are fantastic. Well-maintained with a great, responsive management team. The gym is convenient with new equipment and is always spotless. However, it is a very long walk to the Hub (but super close to downtown Evanston restaurants/bars and mere steps from train stations). Also, if you have a car the nearest parking options are all $125+/mo and a 3-7 minute walk.

Great New Apartment

Beautiful apartments, convenient to downtown Evanston and trains to downtown. Love living here (been here for 1.5 years). Only complaint is there is no on-site parking. A little further from the global hub than some other buildings with similar amenities.

Great apartment building for students and commuters!

Centrum has been a great choice for me and my non-student husband who commutes downtown for work. While slightly further from the hub than other properties, it's super convenient to most everything else downtown and is a great building. The in-unit laundry, rooftop common space, gym and Klub rooms were selling points for us and have been great amenities. I like that this isn't a huge complex and it doesn't feel like just an extension of Kellogg as I think E2 often can. Management has been responsive when I need something addressed. I love the butterfly system at the front door where guests can call you to be let up or you can send them a key / pin in advance - this is a million times better than E2 west where someone has to physically let you in and up the elevator.

My only few complaints are 1.) if facing toward the lake, the blinds are completely ineffective at blocking out summer sunlight - you're blinded every morning by the sun. Sunsets on the opposite side of the building, however are amazing! 2.) During AC season the AC is either on or off at a particular temperature, you can't set it to auto where it shuts off when it reached your set temperature. It's kind of annoying to have to manually adjust it. 3.) Parking is a 5 minute walk which is less convenient than it being closer. There is a public lot in the back of the building with a loading/unloading space for residents but it's almost always full.

Great living space next to train

This is a great apartment that is newest in town. Amazing facilities. I am in love with the kitchen as someone who cooks way too much. The bathroom is very modern and aesthetically pleasing. Centrum has a wonderful gym and uses an app for the call box. Everything is super convenient. However, I don't recommend this place for someone who has a car.

Great Value for Space

This condo is located in a very central area for downtown Evanston and a quick walk to the other big Kellogg buildings. A majority of the residents in the building are older or retirees but there are a few sets of Kellogg roommates in the building as well. Our unit is massive and a great price considering what is included. Be mindful though, that since it is a condo building, some units look different than others and have had upgraded or not.

Downtown Evanston has everything you need. E2 is walkable to campus, a Target, and plenty of restaurants, as well as Metra and L stations to get to Chicago. Right across the street is a Subway, a Thai restaurant, and a pizza place, plus there’s a 7-Eleven about a block away, so you’re very close to options if you need food in a pinch.
Perfect for grad school at Northwestern, but otherwise feels a bit suburban without a booming downtown. There are some good food/bar options, but also a handful of abandoned/empty retail locations -- I'm hoping that means new coffee shops/food venues are coming, but it doesn't look like it just yet.
All in all ideal downtown Evanston location. Very convenient for public transportation to Chicago, next door to local favorite Bennison's (love the late night smell of donuts baking), and walking distance to plenty of bars, restaurants, and stores. Once the Target goes up by Sherman Plaza and we have an alternative to Whole Foods close by this will be perfect.
McManus is located right next to Evanston downtown, so everything (restaurants, bars, groceries) is very close by. It's also right next to Northwestern campus (~15-18 minutes to Kellogg Global Hub by foot), which helps quite a lot, esp. in the winter when you'd want to keep your commute as short as possible.
There's plenty to do, but it still takes some effort to get downtown. If you want the quickest ride (metra), then you have to plan ahead and deal with the (infrequent) train schedule. The purple line only runs express during rush hour. Depending on the time of day, your commute can run 20 minutes to an hour and a half.
I would 100% live in Evanston when choosing where to live for my time at Kellogg. There are plenty of amenities of all sorts - everything from two (!) Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's to amazing restaurants (Stained Glass, Boltwood, Found) and quick joints (Freshii, Cozy, Blaze, Cheesie's, etc.) to good bars ranging from dive-y (Bat 17) to more upscale (Bangers & Lace) to great retail, workout options (barre, boxing, and regular gyms), salons, and handy storefronts like hardware, cleaners, etc. Feels like home very quickly!
I live just south of the main downtown area, and it's the perfect intersection of being close to the action but also a bit removed when you want some quiet. I like being a in a more residential pocket, so there is slightly less foot traffic and really nice areas to walk around with a dog, etc.
We're one block from the centre of downtown Evanston. Clearly Evanston isn't going to win any awards for nightlife, culture or dynamism. But, you're not going to get than anywhere near campus. Good news is you're 2 blocks from Davis, which gets you to downtown Chicago in 30 mins.
