Cheapest single bedroom apartments around. Great apartment.

University Apartments review
Maintenance and management slow to respond to requests, front office and package receiving have limited hours. Apartments themselves are nice for the price, though, and the location is very good.

Why pay $2000 per month for "status"?
I pay $495 per month which leaves me with an extra $5-600 every month that I am putting towards travel while I am at Fuqua. I have 3 travel abroad trips planned with my classmates during my first year and probably could have only afforded 1 of them if I had chosen to stay in the 9th street area. My apartment is not glamorous, in fact it might be the opposite of glamorous. However, I am spending very little time in my apartment anyways. The best part of the 9th street area apartments is being surrounded by other Fuquans but it makes me scratch my head when I see everyone flocking to the same 5 overpriced apartment complexes.

Pretty Basic
The apartment is decently safe and rather basic. It is not especially nice but it is a good value for a one bed and one bath. It also has a nice pool and gym.

Moderately Decent Place & SAFE
These apartments are old but have been refurbished (they have tried really hard) and thus it is apparent that the building is aging. Their service and responses are prompt and of decent quality. The staff in the office is generally helpful. Locked doors provide additional security and the neighborhood is safe overall. It is conveniently located between dowtown durham and duke west campus. There is a convenience store and a small grocery store at walking distance. These apartments have access to a variety of buses that serve Duke's west and east campus. Offers decent value for money despite the slightly old infrastructure.
