Cedar Broad reviews and highlights
- modern urban living
- the gym doesn't have a great selection of free weights
- the amenities are great
- beautiful apartment with a ridiculously reasonable price
- weekend cab rides to the Fan can get rather expensive
- within walking distance to more bars and restaurants than you can try in months
- awesome skyline view
- not in the best area of town
- the rooftop lounge is great for relaxing after work
Beautiful apartment, but not the best location
The amenities are great (bamboo floors, stainless steel appliances, w/d in unit), but it's not in the best area of town. There are some restaurants and bars nearby, but most young people live and go out in the Fan. Make sure you see your exact unit before renting- I was surprised to move in and find that one of my bedrooms doesn't have any windows!

Great value, okay location
For the price, the apartment itself is wonderful. Hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and all the other expected comforts of modern urban living. The management office is by far the best I've ever experienced -- they're willing to help you out however they can. The amenities are good, but not the best in the area. The gym is serviceable-- it doesn't have a great selection of free weights, but many cardio machines. The rooftop lounge, with its awesome skyline view, is great for relaxing after work. I'm not in love with the location, but it has its perks; it's within walking distance to more bars and restaurants than you can try in months of living here and the beautiful Church Hill district is just a few blocks away. Plus, living right next to the highway entrance makes the commute a lot easier in the morning. However, weekend cab rides to The Fan can get rather expensive if your friends prefer to go there on the weekends. Overall, I'd say choosing to live here depends on what you want. If you want a beautiful apartment with a ridiculously reasonable price, plenty of good food nearby, and a management office that won't gouge you for money, then this is a great place to choose. If living within walking distance to the younger crowd (21-25) is most important to you, look for places near The Fan.
