It is a great spot

Not too close, but not too far from the Canton scene-- which is definitely a good thing. You can talk a quick stroll over to the Canton Square, which has lots of fun bars and restaurants, including Nacho Mama's, Tavern on the Square, and Mama's on the Half Shell. The Gunther is great because it is also near Canton Crossing, an up-and-coming shopping center.

Overall, great place

Love this building. My only complaint is thAt I wish they would spend some time fixing the machines in the gym. Every time I go in there 2-3 machines are out of service. Other than that it is a great place to live. Also, we love that it is pet friendly.

Awesome!

The Gunther is a great place to live. It is city living at its best. Very close to a suburban-like shopping center for convenient shopping, yet still in the city. Can walk to LOTS of fabulous restaurants and bars. Across the street from a nice children's play ground, a dog park, basketball courts, and turf field.

Love Canton

The Gunther is an amazing building. The building is brand new, management is courteous and responsive, and our neighbors are great. The neighborhood is also great for young professionals. There are tons of opportunities to be social and you're so close to everything going on in Canton and in Fells.

About Canton

East of Fell’s Point on Baltimore’s outer harbor is Canton. A quaint village square rimmed with restaurants, pubs and shops along O’Donnell Street is the heart of this neighborhood. If you're looking for a low-key area that is still close to the traditionally popular places, Canton is the perfect sp...

Getting around Canton

Canton Reviews

Like all of Baltimore, Canton residents love to drink. You'll find a number of bars in the area and some pretty great eats, too. Canton Square is a great place to start if you're new to the neighborhood. Can't really go too terribly wrong with any of the options there.

Canton also has a reasonable amount of green space for city living. It's located between Patterson Park to the north and the Korean War Memorial Park to the south.

Generally speaking, Canton is about as safe as Baltimore gets but you should still be wary. Crimes do happen and if you're a member of the Canton Neighbors facebook group you hear all about it.

Canton is a great location - convenient to both Fells and Inner Harbor as well as to I-95 that lets you get out of the city quickly. Really enjoy living here!
We love the neighborhood. It is so convenient that Harris Teeter and Target are right across the street. Along with many dining options. The Swuare is also only a few blocks away.
Convenient to bars, stores, restaurants.
There are lots of things to do in Canton, which makes it a popular spot for young professionals and recent college graduates. As long as you're OK in this crowd, then Canton can be a really fun place to live and play. Otherwise, I'd suggest a calmer neighborhood, like Mt. Vernon or Locust Point.
The area is great. Very safe for Baltimore, lots of young professionals, walk able to many stores and food/drink spots.
Canton is a safer, quiet neighborhood with a mixture of young professionals and families. There are relatively few families with older children as people tend to move out of the city when children approach school age. There are tons of restaurants, and grocery shopping is pretty walkable.
