Great Place
The location is great! The building is a little bit old, but is not an issue. Kitchen is complete, but again with older appliances. The good thing is that the service request system works well.

Surely the best place to stay in Rosslyn.

London House
Maintenance is very quick here. The view from the terrace and fitness center of the National Mall is wonderful.

Great view and amenities, management could be improved
Overall, I've loved living at London-Normandy. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and the building managers will add doors to the dining room to convert it to a fourth bedroom, making rent cheaper. Management can be slow with administrative issues, but the work crew is always on top of any maintenance issues. The gym is small, but has the necessary workout equipment, and there's an outdoor pool. It's so close to public transportation and grocery stores. For DC pricing, it's an awesome place to live. Also, the utility prices are a bit sporadic, and the whole apartment splits the costs, which is unfortunate because you can't control how much your neighbors use their heat, water, electricity, etc.

Okay for first apartment
The London is okay for a first time apartment. My main concern was the high turnover of concierge staff for the building. They all worked for a temp agency, and there were always new hires. Also, building management isn't the best to address concerns with.

Quiet and convinient location to live
This is a good location especially for the price I'm paying. This is a very convenient location for work and very central to many other places. Management really works with you to find you what you need. I would suggest this place to anyone anyday!

Old but good
Units are spacious, thick walls - do not hear a thing from your neighbors which is impossible to find in new buildings! Large pool, renovated gym, panoramic view of the city from the rooftop. Hallway carpeting and lighting renovated (units still old school). 10 min walk to Georgetown. Easy access to 66/GW Pkwy/29. Reserved parking available. Overall no issues until I experienced two unfortunate floods at about the time my lease ended. First, neighbors bathroom pipe burst, thank god clean water. Second, some other piping busted, that leaked all the way to the lobby. Building still stands, but it is old and renters insurance is definitely recommended.

The London Normandy House
The building is old and obviously not taken care of. Everything breaks down, and management is slow to respond. Temporary concierge workers are plentiful, but no one stays long enough. The management seems disorganized. Rooms are older looking and kitchens are narrow with dated appliances. For the price, much better to go towards Courthouse.

Great for young professionals
My roommate and I lived in a 1 bedroom in the London House for 2 years. We converted the dining room into a second bedroom. The dining room bedroom didn't have a closet but had plentiful space for wardrobe, desk, dressers, and queen bed. Both of the rooms are huge and the common area was equally huge. We had tons of space, the apartment was clean and we never had any issues with appliances/plumbing, etc. The location could not be better for utilizing the city and Northern VA areas. We loved where we were and wished we didn't have to move. The management company was very responsive to us at all times. The lack of gym didn't bother us because we went to gym/classes nearby but the pool was great and the rooftop can't be beat. I think this place is wonderful for any young professional or couple. Would highly recommend.

Rosslyn Reviews
However, this has been a business district for ages. There is very little going on around here and many of the restaurants don’t even open on the weekends. But, that’s changing. So stay tuned!
(Also, I like living in Virginia because my vote counts for more here!)
If you have long legs, renting a bike is an option. If you are like me and 5'1'', renting a bike is an option for downhill rides.
There is a lot within walking distance in Rosslyn (think 20 min average from my apt): Barnes and Noble, shopping, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's (also on the Arlington loop shuttle from GU), public libraries, CVS, Target, Safeway, lots of restaurants.
Also close to dense populations of immigrant communities if you like Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean food.
Cons: Neighborhood shuts down after 5pm. Few restaurants in the neighborhood itself (this is getting better though). Concrete canyon effect because of the skyscrapers. Closest grocery store is an expensive Safeway.
