Good Value

The 1350-1360 Lake Shore Apartments have many perks from living on the lakefront, to being steps from great restaurants and shopping, to having a beautiful rooftop sundeck to enjoy during the summer. All units have a lake view and there is a small gym on the second floor. Drawbacks include a valet parking garage, an enormous increase in fees throughout the years, a decrease in tenant appreciation, a high turnover rate in the management office, not so friendly door staff, and no in-unit washer/dryer.

Quiet and Cozy

The overall building is nicely kept by management. The apartment is self is renovated and spacious enough for two people. The amenities offered are good; gym, rooftop deck, grocery store. The only issue I have is with the price of parking which is a bit ridiculous.

Best Location

I absolutely love my 1 bedroom apartment. The location is perfect for me and my husband. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby as well as plenty of options for shopping. The neighborhood is safe and public transportation is right outside of the building which is a major plus.

Great Neighborhood

Located right on Lake Shore Dr., this building has a rooftop with a grills, and a pretty nice fitness center. It is convenient because there are also dishwashers in each apartment. This is in such a nice area, everything is within walking distance, and public transportation is very close

Great Apartment, but pricey

This apartments location to public transit is very good for the 151 route going downtown as well as the 22 and 36 buses, but it is fairly far from the train. The building is in good shape and the doorstaff are incredibly nice people. Overall you pay a premium for being by the lake, but some of the views are amazing. The rooftop deck is definitely the top amenity, but can get crowded at times. I would live here as long as the rent does not break your bank account.

1360 North Lake Shore Drive

I've lived at this location for nearly 5 years. In the past year, the management has improved, but not drastically. However, the best part of this building is their maintenance - quick and great service. They are willing to fix almost anything. The amenities at this location are mediocre: the gym is very small and maybe 4 people at a time can work out comfortably. The roof has been "under repairs" nearly this entire summer, so I don't have too much to say about it. All in all, personally, I feel as though I am paying too much for what I am getting in return.

Excellent Location

1350-1360 apartment buildings are located in one of the best areas of the city (in my opinion). Beaches, shopping, restaurants, bars, and more are steps from the buildings. Each unit has a lake view, which is unique. The rooftops are key in the summer with tables, couches, lay out chairs, and grills. The gyms are small, but free. The laundry rooms have recently been redone and are now very high tech. Management responds immediately to all issues and do a great job of keeping everyone informed of happenings around the building. Units are clean, bright, and spacious.

Watch out for the issues

Gorgeous view, great location, but everything from the freight elevator to the plumbing to the rooftop deck has had severe problems in the past few months. The amenities are nice, and the door staff a pleasure to get to know. The apartments are certainly spacious.

Gold Coast Reviews

The Gold Coast experience is a bit like two sides of a coin depending on your exact location. There's the supposedly infamous Viagra Triangle, but really, it's just all a bunch of ostentatiously wealthy people who literally mill around and block the entirety of the sidewalks all evening long. If you're more of an extrovert who has a lot of superfluous cash, that would probably be a fun place to be? I'm more of an introvert, so I'm happy once I pass Division (with its own subset of bars--again, there's a lot going on), and it's all architecturally stunning mansions and much quieter. In general, the most important thing that I can say about this neighborhood is that I have seen more dogs in this area at all hours than in any other city, period, and that's EASILY the best incentive to live in the Gold Coast.
I've lived in the Gold Coast for 12 years. I love the neighborhood, but it lacks new developments (that are under a million dollars per unit). The Gold Coast is as safe as you're going to get in Chicago. There are so many places and other neighborhoods that are in walking distance. Being on the lakefront, I believe the Gold Coast is the best neighborhood in the city.
It's right in the heart of it all. You're also really close to Navy Pier here, and it's a wonderful spot. Millenium park is a nice short walk away, and there's ALWAYS something going on.
Great neighborhood to live in. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. It's also close to everything, so it's easy to walk or take public transit.
My experience has been wonderful. I feel safe and there is always something to do, whether I want to go to a nearby festival or try out a trending restaurant or bar.
Gold coast is close to Division street and cool Gold Coast restaurants. We're a quick walk to the lake, shopping, and great places to eat.
Very quaint. Amazing homes and really close to RH Three Arts Café. Also a convenient walk to Old Town and Division St. Bars.
The Gold Coast is a great neighborhood and very safe. It's full of old people, but this building is very young.
