2121 Market Street reviews and highlights
- Management company can be a bit of hassle, but maintenance requests are still handled quickly
- Trolley is literally steps from the building
- Good value
- Reasonably priced, clean, and safe
- 14 foot high ceilings that are really fantastic
- Apartments facing Market Street can be very loud because of the fire trucks across the street
- Right above Trader Joe's
- Great location
Great bang for your buck but don't expect glamor
Right next to the trolley and right on top of Trader Joe's - great location! There are high ceilings and tons of sunlight. There is a decent gym as well. The appliances are not super modern, but any time I've had an issue management has been responsive. Great price as well. Very happy with the building overall.

Loud
Apartments (at least the ones facing Market Street) are very loud, as the window panes are not great. Only renewed for a 2nd year because the price was very good.

Great value for a spacious apartment
Love the high ceilings and natural light in this industrial-style building. Location is convenient and right next to the trolley. Prices are great for the size and location. Management is OK and front desk is hit or miss. Gym is good for a basic workout and common area is nice for a small meet-up. Fire station across the street is a bummer but you get used to it. Overall, this place won't blow you away but the price is hard to beat. Very happy with my two years here.

Spacious, affordable, and right above a Trader Joe's
There are so many reasons why I love living at 2121 Market. The apartment itself is really spacious--way bigger than other 1brs in the Rittenhouse area. The building is a converted warehouse so the ceilings are really high, adding to the spaciousness. It also has huge windows so there is lots of natural lighting. There are not that many grocery stores in the Rittenhouse area, so being above the TJ's is a big deal. 0.25mi from the Schuylkill River trail and 0.4mi to Rittenhouse Square as well. The doormen are super friendly and are not strict about bringing guests to the rooftop.

Great location, easy application process
So far we have had a great experience living in this apartment building. It's right above Trader Joe's, and close to Center City stuff, but also an easy walk to school. The management is very responsive to requests for maintenance, and the apartments are very affordable for what you get in the area.

Great place to live
I’ve lived here with my fiancé for 2 years, and she lived here for 2 years with a roommate before that. It’s super easy to get to the law school (7 min trolley ride or 20 min walk) and living in Center City is great for having a life outside of school. In terms of amenities, there’s a doorman, a pretty big gym, and laundry on every floor. The corner, 2 bedroom units are huge. Appliances could be updated but they’re still very functional. Management has always responded to our requests promptly.

Overall great for students
Pros: 14 ft. ceilings. Huge windows. Hardwood floors. Two big rooftop decks with tables and chairs. Nice gym. Doorman Building. Laundry on every floor. Right above Trader Joes and the 22nd street Trolley Station. Less than 20 min walk to the Penn Campus, 10 mins on the trolley. Great location. Great place for a student living alone.
Cons: Thin walls and the sound travels. It's a quiet building so this won't be a problem unless your neighbors have more than one resident or a dog. Occasional roaches. Very basic appliances. High ceilings means high bill for heat/AC if you aren't careful. If you're looking for a building that is tight with security, makes visitors sign in, or stops non-residents at the front desk, this is not the place for you.

Perfect Location
My apartment building is perfect for me when it comes to law school. It is only a 15-20 minute walk, perfect to listen to a podcast or clear my mind. In the event of bad weather, I can take the trolley to the law school. It stops right in front of my building and drops me off on the same block as Penn Law. The one-bedroom is spacious, although a little pricey. However, I have a gym on the top floor and living alone was important to me. I did not want roommates, for at least my first year, so I could focus on my studies. Also, I wanted my bedroom to be separate from my work/living space. Further, I wanted enough space to have a desk, because I do my best work at home with access to the gym, food, coffee, etc. to break up the long hours of studying. You will have to pay for utilities (water, electricity, and internet), but all together, no more than an extra $100/month. The security attendant is 24 hours/day, which is amazing and also important to me.
