Overall no issues
Overall there isn't anything super fancy about Tivoli. It's a little over a mile from school. A short walk to the Columbia Heights metro on the green line. My studio is a pretty large studio with good space, especially for the price. Last Summer in 2023 I had some issues with cockroaches but the complex came out multiple times on request to spray for bugs and I haven't had any issues since then. The other issue is that getting packages has been very difficult this year due to clinical rotations and being at the hospital because you can only get packages from the office from 8:30am-5:00pm M-F and half the day on Saturday. The area has had some crime but the complex has 24 hour security at the desk of each building. It feels pretty secure because you have to scan into each building with a special key fob. The gym is small but enough to get the job done if you want to save money on a gym membership. Overall nothing special but if your priority is to not spend a lot on rent it is a solid choice.
CH Houston Review
Great first apartment for a college student
Pretty happy!
Overall a great living situation. I haven’t had any issues with bugs or mice. The building is very clean and the units are well sound proofed. The maintenance team is awesome. Not wild about the management company and I had significant issues when I was trying to get a lease together, but that entire office has turned over now, so hopefully that will be less of an issue. It’s easy to get to campus and close to the park. My dog is very happy. I wish there was a better way to handle packages because I have had several stollen despite pretty good security in the building over all.
Great location
This building on located on seven bus lines and about 15 min away from a red and green line stop. It’s a 40 min walk to campus or about 25 min via public transit. There is a nice rooftop and a great park right across the street (Meridian hill)
Great location, great price, great place!
I have only lived here for 3 months, but have loved my time here! I do wish there were any amenities, even a rooftop or small gym would help justify rent being as much as my friends studio across the street that has a gym and rooftop grill. It's super close to everything you could need though, so I love that!
Excelent apt with no amenities
Excelent apartment at an unreal price. Got really lucky, it’s not common.
Affordable
Affordable building, but has a persistent roach problem. Management needs to address package delivery -- you are unable to pick up your packages after 4PM or on weekends. Moreover, your packages that are delivered after-hours are left unattended and there isn't transparency about how they are handled. As of recently, crime has been on the rise in Columbia Heights.
Despite this building's problems, the price and rent-controlled aspect of this building have made me stick around.
Bristol House Review
Bristol House in Dupont Circle
Small, but great neighborhood
The apartment is well kept, few/none pests or mold issues, nice amenities, and a really calm neighborhood. Extremely close to Blue/orange/silver line stop. Management is quick to address concerns, but are very observant and will know a lot about your life.
I like my building
I like my apartment building. It’s a big complex but all of the staff are extremely friendly and kind. The rooftop is awesome and the gym space is big and not usually crowded. Having package pickup is very nice. It is a very old building so there can be some problems, but typically things are taken care of in one day. The location is unbeatable with the exception of not being near a metro stop.
Solid place but nothing fancy
My apartment is a good size for a studio. There is a gym at the complex and it's small but it gets the job done. I've had no issues with the neighborhood. Only complaint is occasional pests but the apartment has been good about taking of it when I put in a request. Overall no complaints especially with the cost.
Bristol House Review
Convenient, clean, and cost-effective.
Good for the Price, But Not the Best
Apartment was nice when I first moved in, but the property has declined over the years. I had a few mice in my apartment in the past (currently no mice). Residents throw trash and other garbage in the parking lot and in the grass. Residents do not clean up after their pets. Property is safe with no car break-ins. Property is also gated.
Great apartment and neighborhood
Great apartment building and great neighborhood. Somewhat expensive, but proximity to school, parks, restaurants, and metro are excellent. The building has a nice rooftop and most units have recently updated kitchens; building is well-maintained.
Highly recommend
I love Bristol house! The staff is super friendly and the building is very dog friendly. Apartments are clean and if you ever have a maintenance issue they are super quick to respond. Plus the apartments have windows that give lots of natural light
