Great Student Apartments

although the building is older, the environment is very safe and student friendly. It is near American University's campus in upper NW, but my drive to HUCM is consistently 20 minutes, maybe 30 with REALLY bad traffic. Garage parking is a 200 dollar fee, but they have many deals and I was able to have that fee waived.

Pretty good, but not the best

The apartment complex is safe and well-run. The management is very responsive and kind. However, it is relatively far from campus and the bar scene is non-existent. The gym and pool are tiny, with the gym in particular being lacking. If you don't care about the amenities, drive, and don't go out that much it's ideal. Great for dog owners as there is a park with a walking track directly attached to the complex. Overall recommend for those not as social/alcohol oriented.

Overall nice place to live while going to school

The Berkshire overall is a great place to live! It is close to campus and a safe area. The building is always clean and the staff is very attentive. The only problem is that occasionally roaches come out of the drains. There have been 2 incidents of this in my year living here. They do have pest control to help with this. It can be difficult for graduate students too because many undergraduate students live here so it can get pretty noisy.

Highly recommend but comes at a price

Great facility, nice neighborhood, close to DuPont, Foggy and Georgetown. There’s a Trader Joe’s nearby. Building gym and pool not the best but also has a garden, a roof and a lounge area with free coffee for residents. Concierge service 24/7 and building maintenance from the management company.

The place is super nice for the price and location. The management is on site during business hours, so they're easy to access. Beautiful pool, small gym, lots of parking for you and guests.

Overall great experience living in this building. Lots of amenities including pool and 24 hr gym, and nice apartments. Close to lots of things to do in Coral Gables, and centrally located in Miami. Only downside is that it takes about 30 minutes to drive to FIU campus, and that management at the building is not the best, although this hasn't really impacted my living experience much.

We like living here and like the area. Friendly people, cleaning staff and front desk. We feel safe. Have a wonderful view.
Management team however is Very slow to respond to requests for maintenance. Pool is closed often. No communication with residents about this.m Bummer.

unresponsive management

We are basically happy living here. Many good things could be said.
Cleaning and door staff friendly and helpful.
However the management teem leaves l lot to be desired. Poor response to our needs. Poor communication to residents especially when the pool is closed, which is very often. No notice given.
They may say "we'll get right on" but one usually has to make several visits downstairs to get action.

Big apartments and near the metro as well as a few grocery stores. Convenient location right on ponce and US 1. Management and maintenance aren’t the greatest. It is hard to get help when an issue arrises.

Convenient and Cozy

It’s a 10 minute walk (if that) to campus each day and in a pretty safe neighborhood (especially since it’s neighbors with Homeland Security). The staff are quick to respond to any questions or needs, and the other residents are friendly (many of whom are other AU students!). Highly recommend!

Stay away

Apartment complex is infested with roaches. Management is aware and has no solution. The apartment complex is unresponsive to tenants and has lost mail multiple times. The fire department and police are consistently at the building. This complex takes advantage of AU students knowing they have very little options in the area.
