Apartment North of Campus
The apartments are spacious and provide a lot of amenities. Great sunlight and options for balconies. It has its own off leash dog park, pool, gym, and study space. The complex is close to campus and near bus route to go to school. Moreove, it is relatively near a grocery store. The majority of the utilities such as Electricity, Water, Cable/Internet are not included in the base rent- this includes parking.
A decent place, but management is leading the demise
We lived here during 1Y and renewed our lease since the property is great for our dog. However, we have observed issues with management not upholding their responsibilities to better the community. It has at times been a roller coaster.
We enjoy living here and look forward to improved progress, returning to where things had been.
Management Team is Subpar
The building and its units are great, but I am rather upset by the pool and outdoor areas being unavailable despite them telling me it'd be done by the end of the year. Also, if you are unable to operate with construction around you, it'd be difficult to live here.
Good value
Pros:
- Relatively low rent
- Nice units, large square footage
- Neighbors are quiet
- Reasonable commute: 15 min by car and 25 min by bus
- Parking garage with controlled access. Free to park unless you want a reserved spot but there is plenty of parking so no need to.
Cons:
- Fringe neighborhood: safe to walk around during the day. I personally wouldn't walk along N Lamar at night.
- Package theft is somewhat common. They recently built a package room which should reduce thefts. I would ship expensive items to a nearby Amazon locker.
Great Property, Not so Great People
Absolutely love this apartment, the amenities are wonderful, maintenance responds within two hours, and it is so nice to have an attached parking garage with ample parking for guests. However, some people who live there are absolute slobs and leave trash in stairwells, park outside of the lines, and do not pick up after their pets. I know this is not the apartment's fault, but just goes to show how people can ruin nice things by not taking care of them. Luckily, our neighbors are pretty quiet.
Average
The apartment itself is good. It’s relatively new, it was clean when I moved in, and management fixes things quickly if they break or need maintenance. The drawbacks are the constant noise (mostly from the garbage room directly below my apartment, but also construction, pedestrians, etc.). Additionally the windows are never cleaned and the screens do not cover the entire window so unless I want flys I basically cannot open my windows unless it’s cold.
Nice
I like it a lot. It is close to everything we need, but i wish they had a security car that patrolled like my last apartment.
Camden Crest Review
Management is Awful
Awful Experience
If I could give this place negative stars I would, DO NOT EVER LIVE HERE. The staff was awful and unhelpful and didnt ever support us. My roommate had his truck stolen, out of the "gated" garage, 1 out of the 6 that were stolen in under one year, there were gnats, cockroaches, feces and urine all throughout the property and management took weeks to address these issues. I had multiple packages stolen as well and got no support from any staff at the property. I never felt safe or sanitary at any point living here and I would NOT ever recommend this location to anyone at anytime if they value safety, cleanliness or happiness. Awful experience and I am glad I left there, worst experience of my life.
Farther but great for the costs. Car is needed!
It is relatively a safe and quiet neighborhood to live in. The apartment is modern and an open concept. My greatest concern apartment hunting was keeping my car safe. There are private individual garages that allow for extra storage space as well. The costs was the lowest I could find with all the amenities it comes with (pool, ok gym, business center, in-unit washer/dryer). The utilities really do add up and tack on another $250-300. With a car, I am able to go to an Aldi and specific grocery stores that are difficult to find in DC using public transportation.
Great place, it is what you make it.
I love our apartment, it is the perfect size, a quiet neighborhood, great shopping and groceries, close to raleigh, durham, and chapel hill, super helpful maintenance staff. However, the rent does increase a good deal every year, and the parking lot does not have security watching it so cars are broken into often. Lock your cars.
Amenities amenities amenities
Camden Overlook is perfect for me because it has top tier amenities. They have a large gym, an indoor basketball court, and a heated pool. The apartments are not overly nice but they are not uncomfortable by any means. It is also only about 10 minutes from the law school. I'll probably be staying here for all of law school.
Camden Manor Park
Great space for the price! Walls are very thin. I recommend the top floor if you are sensitive to noise.
Camden Plaza
Overall a nice place to live. They always take care of maintenance items quickly, the building is in good shape, and staff are friendly.
Bang for your buck!
It is a great apartment complex that is secure and with several floorpans that fit a variety of needs. Levy park, adjacent to the apartment is my primary reason for choosing this!
