I think this is a really nice, safe area. It is usually pretty quiet, and there are a lot of families and local business in the area. My apartment is above a hair salon and a coffee shop, which I really enjoy. It is also just a couple minutes away froom Bryan Park, which is a great place to walk.

It's close to the law school (~7 minute walk).
It's even closer to most of Bloomington's best bars & restaurants.
It's within walking distance from just about everything you need— but it's better to have a car to do grocery shopping. There are nearby parking lots that you can walk to for that, and there are two secret streets within walking distance that have free parking (the only 2 in Bloomington).
It's very safe.
I walk my dog around the neighborhood several times per day.
I don't have any kids here, but I think it would be a fine place for kids, too.

The neighborhood/area surrounding my apartment is absolutely beautiful. There is a cafe right across the street from me, as well as a restaurant/bar that is very upscale. There have been no issues with neighbors, and I find that my main way of unwinding is going for a long walk outdoors because of how safe and family-friendly it is. There is also a park about a 5 minute walk from me, which is surrounded by the literal mansions.

It's close enough to the school that it's an easy walk (~15 minutes if I'm at a good pace, otherwise slightly longer) and it's bus accessible for most of the way.

Several other law school students in my year live nearby that I get along with which has made the neighborhood nice for bumping into people I like. Yet none live in the building or that close that I'm bumping into people all of the time. Generally it is quiet though. I wish there were more eateries nearby, but there are some.

The neighborhood is quiet and on the northeastern edge of Bloomington. I'd say roughly 30-40% of the apartment tenants are IU students. There is quiet neighborhood behind the complex which I use to take walks almost every day; it's a 30-minute loop. The only downsides to the neighborhood are that if you want to go downtown or to campus you have to either drive, Uber, or take the bus and there aren't really any restaurants within walking distance.

We are close to the Shalom center and occasionally get random people walking down the street. That's pretty common overall for Bloomington though.

The neighborhood is perfect. This is definitely a suburban neighborhood that is filled with families, children, and pets. If you are looking for a young partying neighboorhood, this is NOT the place for you. There is a park and tennis court right down the street. The only con to this complex is the distance from campus. It is a 10-minute drive to campus, which is considered "far" for a college town. Additionally, if you rely on public transportation, the city bus only comes by at certain times in the morning and at night. You have to cross busy 3rd street to get to the other bus stop that goes at all hours of the day.
