Chinatown

Bustling with Energy
Chinatown is the cultural hub for Chinese culture and commerce. Historically, the area was once tidal flats - but today has been transformed into a thriving community brimming with shops, restaurants, and residential living. In Chinatown, naturally, there are many options to enjoy Asian cuisine - like dim sum palaces, dumpling houses, and seafood spots. Chinatown Gate is a tourist attraction that even the locals love. The entrance into Chinatown is marked by beautiful architecture - a photo op for the taking. The beginning of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, a winding park in the community, starts at the Chinatown gate. A few blocks of this area are nicknamed the Leather District, where in the past leather manufacturing took place in large warehouses, and where today these spaces are being claimed by an emerging modern restaurant area.

There is a variety of choices for Asian cuisine in Chinatown. Restaurants to hit up include New Dong Khanh Restaurant, Shabu Zen, Gourmet Dumpling House, and The Q. Bars in the area host some of the best nightlife - including The Tam, Avery Bar, Sip Wine Bar and Kitchen, and Corner Pub. Chinatown is perfect for anyone looking for a neighborhood with an exciting personality, jam-packed with delicious Asian-inspired eateries.

Chinatown — 8.7/10 Rating (based on 6 neighborhood reviews)
The food around us is great! I also love the environment because there is always something to do. We are also close to the red green and orange lines and we are also close to South Station which is great if you're wanting to take Amtrak one weekend for a getaway. The neighborhood is relatively safe and I have never had a problem walking by myself. Chinatown is also a 10 minute walk to New England Law so it is a great commute!

Chinatown has great cheap food. Sometimes it can feel unsafe at night, but during the day it feels ok. There is a big presence of med/dental students and employees of Tufts Medical center

Chinatown is beautiful and super fun to walk around/explore. At night however some streets can be a little shady.
