Hyde Park
Where History Meets Trendy
Hyde Park is a primarily residential neighborhood in an affluent area. While it is a more suburban and peaceful setting, it is only a short drive from downtown. Hyde Park Square is the commercial hub where people gather to shop at a selection of boutiques on a leisurely afternoon and also has a park for local events or a playground for kids. Art galleries, such as The Cincinnati Art Museum and The Taft Museum of Art, attract residents who are looking to explore their creative side and learn more about different cultures. Hyde Park is also home to one of the oldest professional observatories in the U.S., the Cincinnati Observatory offers a fun and educational opportunity for the whole family! Upscale dining options are available for a variety of choices and occasions. Check out Unwind Wine Bar & Light Fare for a cozy ambience to relax, socialize and sip some great wines. Mesa Loca is a top-tier Mexican restaurant with a modern twist on traditional Mexican cuisine.

Hyde Park —
9.1/10 Rating
(based on 21 neighborhood reviews)
I live very close to the Hyde Park Plaza, so I can walk around and there are always people walking their dogs when I'm outside. I feel very safe as a woman who lives alone. I'm about 15-20 minutes from school and the drive is easy.

Within a block from Mt Lookout Square, a mile from Hyde Park Square (& public library), & about a mile and a half from Kroger. I can walk to a CVS, a UDF, dentist, therapist, chiropractor, eye doctor, dry cleaning, & FedEx/USPS/UPS/Amazon drop off spots. Super safe neighborhood to walk around in, less than a mile from district 2 police station.

Hyde Park is the place to be as a young professional. It is very safe and well kept, and it is a decently diverse community of people. Sidewalks everywhere, very close to Ault Park, and you can walk, bike, or drive anywhere in Hyde Park.

Hyde Park Square is within walking distance. There are plenty of shops and restaurants, though they can be pricey. There’s a local farmers market every weekend at the square. Lots of young professionals and dogs!

Hyde Park is a great place to live. It is quiet, walkable to shops and restraunts, a quick 10-15 min drive to campus, close to grocery stores, and safe. I have lived in Hyde Park for the past 6-7 years and have loved living here.

I really like the area where I live. It is close enough to a lot of activities, like restaurants, breweries, and shopping without being so close that it is loud or busy. The area isn't extremely walkable, you definitely need a car. But there is some nice things that are within walking distance, like a coffeeshop and several city parks that are great for picnics or exercise. The area I am in is between Mt. Lookout and East End, so there are lots of fun things within 5 minutes.

The apartment is literally on the border of the 2 neighborhoods. The majority of food and social stuff sits on the Mt. Lookout side. Incredibly safe, multiple beautiful parks. Mostly a residential area, average age of residents is maybe 30 years old. Mostly a yuppie/young professional area. Very pet friendly.

The neighborhood is beautiful with a lot of family homes. A lot of people walk their pets or go jogging and I see kids playing in their yards from time to time. Overall a very safe and well-located neighborhood.

Lots of restaurants in walking distance, as well as a CVS, UDF, and a coffee shop. Kroger & a public library around a little over a mile away. There are bike lanes in this part of town, but no way to bike all the way to school.
