Bouldin

Greetings from Bouldin Creek
Bouldin (or Bouldin Creek) is home to the famous ‘Greetings from Austin’ mural and one of the oldest neighborhoods in Austin. While few of the original structures from the 1920s still stand, this area pays homage to its beginnings with its original combination of retro and modern architecture. Home to many artists and enthusiasts, creativity and workmanship thrive in the local businesses that color this classic community. Tap into the expressive atmosphere at local haunts such as Magnolia Cafe or Polvos.

Renters here love fully experiencing and contributing to their community. Locals have access green spaces, art and music venues and downtown Austin just across the river. People of all ages and all walks of life call Bouldin home.

Bouldin — 8.3/10 Rating (based on 9 neighborhood reviews)
Living on S. 1st you're walking distance from downtown and to a ton of great restaurants and concert venues. Lots of free outdoor activities Zilker park and barton springs are right there if you want to swim or play volleyball or just run on a trail. The Bouldin neighborhood is pretty fancy, all the houses are $1 million+. So you're buying into a nice place for very cheap rent. I'm going to shout out Colibri pre-school once again. It's ages 1-6 Montessori. It's not cheap, but one of the best pre-schools in the city. And leaves you free to pursue law school from 8-5 .

Love being close to downtown and South Congress. We are convenient to everything we love to do in Austin. I can walk to Town Lake for a walk or run and Auditorium Shores is very close too.

The Catherine sits at the heart of everything. I'm a big fan of the Lady Bird Trail, so I love that I can access that so effortlessly. We are just across the bridge from downtown and South Congress. The only downside is that we're just far enough that you may want to drive or scoot when it's really hot outside. It also averages me about 15 mins to drive and park at McCombs.

Most importantly is the direct access to the river trails, making it a great neighborhood for outdoor activities. It is also a safe neighborhood.

Downtown Austin is a great place to live to maximize a short commute and proximity to restaurants, bars, parks, and the lake. The prices are significantly higher in the downtown area, but it is definitely worth it to be close to all of the action.
