Modern downtown living

I've lived in the Ivory for about 10 months. My husband and I absolutely love our apartment. The units all feature laminate flooring, modern finishes, in suite laundry, and awesome walk in showers. There are a variety of floor plans, but most units have a large kitchen island open to the living area. Our unit has a deck (rare for a downtown apartment) that sits next to a rooftop garden. The view of the building next door isn't the best, but we love the garden. The gym is small, but functional. The common rooftop area contains lounge chairs, a large patio table, and a grill. The building is generally very quiet. We are also right next door to Heinens, the downtown grocery store. We have two dogs ($250 pet deposit ea. and $35 ea. per month) and take them out at a small nearby grassy area. The Ivory is right on the RTA Healthline route (bus rapid transit), which I take to Case daily. The area immediately around us is a bit dead right now, but multiple buildings are slated to start major renovations within the year. The Ivory is also within a short walking distance to Playhouse Square, Progressive Field, and Quicken Loans Arena, along with a variety of other downtown locales.

The location of the building is great in the sense that you are close to anything you may need. There are grocery stores, bars, restaurants, sport stadiums, and public transport within minutes of walking. Which is great and very convenient if you don't want to have a car! The only drawback is that there is a lot of transit of people during the day, sometime drunk people due to the casinos or the sports game, and sometimes homeless. Which can make it feel unsafe to go out at night. However, there is a lot of security around the square and inside the building 24/7.
Nightlife is great and being located in the Gateway district, there is close access to sports games as well. East 4th St. has wonderful restaurants and bars and is very safe. You do however need to be aware of where exactly you are at night, as sometimes walking one block off the main path will put you in a dangerous area. Public transit, especially the HealthLine, is very convenient and brings me from right outside my door straight to UH.
Downtown in Cleveland is perfect. A quick uber to any other neighborhood, close to tower city, and all highways meet downtown. Traffic because of that can be annoying but realistically only if you're on ninth and/or trying to get on the highway and only from around 4 to 6.
I feel very safe here. Indoor and outdoor parking (between $120-150/month) but it is gated and extremely safe; cameras all around. Overall, it's a very young area and I always feel safe walking around.
Great location! Walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars, and all the stadiums. I haven't ever felt unsafe, but it is downtown in a large city.
Living downtown isn't for everyone, but as someone who enjoys the city, East 4th street is a great place to live. As a Case grad student I love living right by a Healthline stop, which means I don't need to purchase a university parking pass and drive to school. I'm a 3 min walk from Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, a 5 min walk from Progressive Field, and a 20 min walk from the Cleveland Browns stadium. East 4th Street itself offers tons of food and entertainment options, from bars to restaurants to clubs to a comedy club and bowling alley. While this is great for stuff to do, it can also making driving and parking a nightmare if you're hosting visitors any time that there is an event going on in CLE. Additionally, resident parking downtown is minimum $150-200/mo., so you'll want to factor that into your rent if you have a vehicle.
It is located right downtown on Euclid Avenue. The area seems pretty safe during the day, however it does not feel safe at night. The area also gets extremely busy when there is a sporting or other event happening downtown. I have also found that a lot of shopping has to be done outside of downtown.
Because of covid, I think the downtown scene has changed a lot since I’ve been here. Everyone says downtown Cleveland is pretty dangerous but I haven’t felt that way about the area immediately around the Bingham or the flats. The public square area and playhouse square can be a little sketchy at night and there are a good amount of homeless people there.
