Best part about the Village is it's proximity to campus. The free campus shuttle is great too. It takes about 10 minutes to get to campus on the shuttle. We also think the Village great for young families as there are playgrounds in each courtyard with lots of other kids to play with all year round.
They are made of cinder blocks, which has not bothered us but does effect some people's opinions of the apartments. Lots of storage space! No dishwasher. Also, there is not a main level. When you walk in, you will either be going up or downstairs.

It's not perfect, but it's been generally a good place to live.

We have loved living in the villages. There are shuttles going directly to campus from our apartments. All our utilities are included including Internet and cable. The only complaint we have is that they are a little old. The walls are mostly cinder block. We can have washers and dryers in the apartments. There are no dishwashers.

Management isn't stellar, office people are often extremely cranky with the students. But, for the price and given that it's pretty much on campus makes it worth it. You won't find anything cheaper especially with utilities, cable, and internet included. Most places you will be spending $500 more a month in rent plus you will have to pay for all utilities on top of that. As previously mentioned, it's right on campus and within walking distance from class and any athletic event!

It's one of the most affordable places in town. The social climate is great! We made a lot of friends very quickly and it's a paradise for kids from spring to fall. Winter is a little harder since they can't go outside. It's very close to the University of Utah, maybe a 10-15 minute walk, or a 10 minute free shuttle ride. It's 0.5 miles from the zoo and This is the Place Park, which is awesome. There are also a lot of activities around town that are advertised. The only negative is that the apartments are old. They have cinder block walls in some parts of the apartment.

Living on campus is convenient for my family. The apartment is small, and cinder-blocky, but we know we will only be here for two years. The schools are great and the kids bus stop is close. There are lots of playgrounds and families with young children so the kids can usually find someone to play with when it is warm outside.

Great social apartment - perfect for married couples with kids.

They are a good value. They aren't the nicest inside and the floors are hard etc. But they are in a great location and it is a good for while you are in school.

We have loved living in the University Village for the sheer fact that our children immediately have lots of friends. Spouses who aren't in school come out of their apartments during the day and hang out in the playground while the kids mingle and play. Obviously cinderblock walls aren't the greatest, but the value is fantastic where all utilities and internet/cable are included.

I'm in a graduate program and found cheap apartments close to campus. Win! You can also read that as: I'm poor and can't afford somewhere to live without popcorn ceiling and weekly plumbing problems. But hey, I'm a student. I can do anything for 2 years.
